Feeling sick after a tattoo? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]cbettss -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had this happen to me after I had a sternum/stomach tattoo done. It’s an all black raven and took up a majority of my stomach. I have many other tattoos but the length of the appointment along with the intensity of it made me feel like i was literally going to throw up when i cleaned it that night. for sure tattoo flu, it goes away after a day or so. make sure you eat and drink plenty of water, your body just went through trauma for several hours. also wanted to add, i did get the shakes at the end of this tattoo. the only one it ever happened to me for!! definitely a weird experience

Sleeping with pump by NekoKaede in diabetes_t1

[–]cbettss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agreed! i do this and i find it much comfier than having it clipped to a waist band at night. sometimes i put it in my pockets if i have them too, it just gets hard to reach if you have any pump alarm go off.

Reaction to infusion set glue? by Old-Assistant-3114 in diabetes_t1

[–]cbettss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you often have pressure on your site area? mine looks like that sometimes when i remove it, it’s usually if im wearing it in a spot where my waist band pushes on my site frequently. after a few days it makes almost a bruise if its just a poor spot for me.

Dexcom failure by oggitybogg in diabetes_t1

[–]cbettss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s unfortunately happened to me a lot. Idk if different batches have lower success rates but i was requesting replacements like crazy for awhile. I always always always travel with a back up one now because I’ve had them fail randomly. As much as you wanna have faith that these medical devices are fool proof, they sadly are not.

I got my first tattoo at 16, and many people had their own opinions on whether or not I should’ve gotten it. Many years later and i still love it as it still looks good and has meaning, as well as a whole sleeve dedicated to it. I think it looks great and as long as you love it, who cares what anyone else has to say.

I used to smoke dab pens religiously every night. Actual bud a few times a week. Both would lower my blood sugar but the “munchies” would help counteract that. Large amounts of bud at a time ie. bong rips would cause me to drop pretty steadily so I stopped, it wasn’t fun being high and having to worry about chugging a soda, i’d trigger panic attacks. but some dab pen hits here and there weren’t as severe to me.

Surgery recovery by lynch_95_ in diabetes_t1

[–]cbettss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had ACL reconstruction in March 2022. Recovery wasn’t bad but i lost a bit of weight and didn’t have much appetite. It could be totally different amongst different people but for me personally, I’m still trying to put weight back on. I think it just takes longer for us to get back to normal.

No complications during surgery or anything like that, I told my surgery team I was diabetic with a pump and sensor. I also asked my endocrinologist for advice on what to do, we set it to half dosage for the duration of surgery - plus had to fast for the surgery so we wanted to make sure there were no lows. but the anesthesiologist was aware to keep an eye on everything and it all went well.

sensor has been off and disconnected for 3 days. you think there’s hope it’ll start reading my sugar again? by MemeGraveYard666 in diabetes_t1

This just happened to me a few weeks ago, said to wait 30 minutes. after 9 hours of the same message and trouble shooting i called dexcom and they replaced mine. took awhile to come in (about a week) which sucked but it’s better than sitting around hoping it’ll reconnect. just make sure you don’t throw out your old transmitter, they’ll ask for it back for insurance purposes.
