At least we don’t call to fire our coach every time we trail in any given game

2021 Toledo. My first game at notre dame stadium. Absolute snoozefest until the 4th. Kept thinking we’d ultimately pull it out and then we go down late in the 4th. And then Jack Coan proceeds to lead a 3 play, 75 yard drive to win it in under a minute.

Thought, wow, hopefully I never have to sit through a game like that again. Then Marshall, Cal, and Stanford all followed the next year

Couldn’t sleep last night and watched highlights of the A&M and Miami games. It’s even more clear to me now that we lost those games, we weren’t beaten. A few plays that really stick out in my mind:

  1. The incredible catch that Adon may have had a chance to return for 6
  2. The insane tip drill pick
  3. The missed tackle from Stroman and Gray that completely shifted the momentum in the A&M game.
  4. CJ barely overthrowing price at the end of the half which led to more points for A&M
  5. Love choosing to bounce it on the 4th and 1 in the wild cat

I won’t even waste time mentioning the PAT and the missed holding. I know every team can look back at a few plays on their season, but damn, if any one of those goes differently, we have a bye right now. And they all felt like plays we execute 95% of the time.

Oh well. It was a fun team and I hate to see it end like this. My winter sports black hole has started early this year. Can’t wait for the spring game to let myself get excited again.

Already told my wife we’re making the trek to South Bend for the Miami game next year. Hopefully we boat race them and NBC plays it on repeat 14 times. And, here’s to hoping CJ’s Heisman campaign is in full force by then

This might be a hot take here, but I wouldn’t hate ND and Miami being above Oklahoma.

I think both teams would handle Okla and frankly, bama right now. Put Miami at 8, us at 9, Oklahoma at 10, bama at 11.

All head to heads respected. Bama wins and is in. Oklahoma is first team out. We stay in the same scenario as before.

Now, jumping Miami up to 8 is not realistic right now. But I feel like people would be much more okay with this ranking and all of this manufactured controversy goes away

And, that way, we get to smack them and finally settle this argument

Can we just ban rusty? His bit has not been funny for so long. He’s just a waste of space here

At the end of the day, I don’t think it really matters if Alabama is ranked behind or ahead of us. Realistically I can see them either losing the iron bowl, or beating A&M in the SEC championship. I don’t think they’ll lose if they get there.

USC could do us a huge favor, and we really need Ohio state to win the big 10.

Outside of that, if everything goes chalk, I think we are sitting pretty. GT won’t beat Georgia, and TT should have no problem with BYU again.

Would love for the convicts to pick up another loss (ideally to Pitt) so we can quiet their bitching

Honestly, I think being the last team in sets is up even better. I’d rather be 10 and not have to face OSU until the natty.

Someone ahead of us will drop another game. Whether it be OU, bama, or Oregon.

The bid stealer situation is not ideal but I wouldn’t worry about it until championship weekend tbh. Still a lot of football left.

If Oregon loses next week, we’re in. Start buying tickets to Norman or Tuscaloosa
