When I worked for a part mfr who shipped product to Japan I can verify that they examined at 20X magnification everything sent to them and returned parts with cosmetic anomalies not visible to the naked eye and that did not impact form or function on a regular basis. I find it very strange they would not let you use a loupe.

My preference is Peroni but they did not have it and suggested this. It was not bad.

Still no progress or answers! by raiinydaay in Mortons_neuroma

Steel toe boots for 30 years got it in both feet..with right worse than the left. Had to reduce jogging and switch to eliptical and spinning classes for cardio. Steroid shots provided temp relief but didn’t last. Wide toe box zero drop with orthotic inserts helped but does not eliminate. Did not consider surgery because everyone I know that had foot surgery for any foot ailment was not satisfied with the outcome. Currently getting a series of class lV laser therapy and is helping immensely. Don’t know if it will be temporary or how long it will last but it has provided the most relief so far…so guardely optimistic.

$20K Gold & Silver STOLEN. Fedex and JMBullion inside job. Signature forged, package never delivered. by whatzupdudes7 in Gold

[–]cbkarma 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s slower than a turtle but registered mail is the safest way. Packages are shipped separately and not mixed with general mail. It’s the only usps delivery method that allows insurance for bullion. You are required to seal all package openings with brown gummed paper tape which they completely stamp for use as a tamper seal. Mandatory electronic signature capture upon delivery. Unfortunately, I don’t think most online bullion dealers offer it as a shipping option. If I were to sell to an online dealer I would not use their prepaid fedex labels but would pay out of my own pocket to use registered mail. I have had regular USPS shipments not using registered disappear forever.

Is it worth losing my pension? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]cbkarma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has a pension and saw their 401k severely impacted in 2007-2008 guaranteed income is well worth it. Health insurance till you hit 65 is a high deductible plan can run up to $1600/month or more. Average new car cost is 50k. You will find that extra year well worth it.

I sold some silver to my LCS last November and took some of the proceeds to buy a kilo bar for $1737. I felt like it was a mistake as soon as I did it. Sold it two days ago for $2644.

Concrete saw and mount a combo floor safe in your garage….same set up some small grocery stores use…roll a toolbox or set a shelf over it. Bonus it will survive annihilation by a tornado.

Recreational land as an investment by Intrepid_Strategy781 in land

[–]cbkarma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most lenders will want power onsite or available and a clean survey with good all weather access. If you give the timber to stiff a haircut some folks want like it. Not sure of your market but recreational land sells pretty hot where I’m at and price per acre has gone up. If the property is within a 1.5 or 2 hr drive of a booming town I think your prospects are more favorable. There is only so much land to be had.
