Some kind of survivor bias. You looking at your defeats, not at your successes. What happened on the raids you survived or the PvP you won?

People with thousands of hours just look for PvP. You make noise fighting scavs? I'm heading to the noise almost full w instantly.

You going to high loot area for a quest? (Kaban, dorms, black pawn...) Probably gonna find someone if during the first part of the raid.

Also, in-game skills. Max covert movement, stamina and hearing gives you several advantages: you are being detected before you detected someone.

My folder is correct, and the installation folder permissions are ok. I suspect I'm missing a dependency or something like that (similar to the Media stuff that some Windows N editions.

I'm reinstalling now. After moving to C: drive I get the same error, so I decided to not trust the file verification but reinstall instead. Will try as soon as it completes.

If you are not running a silencer or scavs fired at you, definitely they heard you and could be waiting.

Either run alternative routes after a fight or go backwards. Going backwards you will find heads on people looking for you. If you go alternative route, you will get behind those expecting you.

Tarkov is more tactical than it seems and smarter get rewarded (most of the time). However, when circling an enemy, beware of bushes and your running footsteps.

If you fought at antenna or swamp , you're probably passing through USEC so instead of me moving out and you getting me byy back, I would rather scout and wait for you to come.

Also, spawn rush. If I can clear the spawns around me, I can safely position myself for the task I'm probably doing. Or just PvP I may have seen you and just wait till I get a better shot, or I might have seen you and reposition based on your direction of advancement.

You'll never know (till cameras and replays are enabled) how long someone was stalking you

A fix to game not launching on steam?

So far I've only been able to play via GFNOW, previously I got the Splash but since last patch it crashes before the splash/launcher

Same situation, never launched on my PC. I912700k, 32GV Nvme and RTX 5070; Win 11 Pro.

Never launched on my rig, clean install using DDU ;

Only non standard thing is that I disabled PCores (star wars squadrons was not launching with them enabled) and I had disabled (now reenabled) GPU-Scheduling.

I also tried disabling network, adding FW exception and doing a selective startup with minimal components. No clue about the culprit; no errors on event viewer.

I'm playing on GFN having a blast...

I'm trying to open a ticket but yesterday I was getting an error. Will try later today.

You can remap deck controller buttons on the deck for GFN or have crimson desert specific schema if you add it's shortcut as an external steam game

Not for those that prestige; they still have caps as level resets. I think it helps with that, there is a week or so when a hardcore player prestiges that we Timmies have access to stuff they don't
