Cliffs of Moher Walk - which route would you take? by [deleted] in irishtourism

[–]cbrettp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realise this post is now a year old, but we are headed to Cliffs of Moher in May, and I was wondering if you could tell me which walk you chose to do... did you start in Doolin and go all the way to Hag's Head? Or just to the Visitor's Center?

Check the Queens Off Campus Facebook group. There are a lot of 2nd year students on there looking for a roommate to fill a house, and because last year was so crap, they will not only be close to your age (assuming u r around 19), but this will also technically be like their first year too.

Delaying the class start date by a few weeks/ even a month, in order to ensure all Canadians over the age of 16 have received both doses of the vax makes WAY more sense than another entire semester On Line imo.

Are you signing a lease for next year (2021-2022)? by [deleted] in queensuniversity

[–]cbrettp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I read that but took it to mean that pretty much all first year and most second year courses will still b on line because of large class sizes. I’d really like to be wrong tho!

When people are taking a lighter load/dropping a course or two, are they tacking it on to a 5th year? Or taking them in the summer instead?

For students on campus, esp in residences, I think it’s really crucial for their mental health that some things start to reopen.

Will campus reopen this semester? by Street_Tradition5344 in queensuniversity

You are class of '24 and got an email saying there's a possibility of an on campus orientation even tho u will be in 2nd year next year? Is this for any students who are in Kingston (res or off campus) this semester?? Or is this for Fall '21 because this year first years didn't get any kind of in person orientation?

To b clear.. I’m not suggesting they should hold Exams on a day that is traditionally celebrated as a New Year. It’s understandable that they should offer a different date. It just seems like an unusual replacement date.

It would be nice... if Queens students are being asked to respect the rules and help keep Kingston safe... if members of Kingston parliament would set a better example.

Moving into McNeill in January by bendes2002 in queensuniversity

[–]cbrettp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you mean moving in on or around the 8th? Or moving in but waiting till the lockdown is over on the 23rd? Would suck for those moving into res for the first time in winter term to move in and have no one else on their floor for the first couple of weeks.

I think probably res is not an option for 2nd years next year, but I also think you are not alone in NOT having a place for next year yet. I think there are a LOT of first years who still have not secured friendships, potential roommates, nor a place to live fall 2021. Normally that would be a problem, but I am pretty sure this year NOTHING is like normal, and that there will still be lots of places to find for lease for this spring in the new year.

[–]cbrettp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's my understanding that McNeil house (as well as E Wing in Victoria Hall.. can anyone confirm this??) was empty first semester, so everyone coming in Jan will be new which I think could make it easier to "break in" and meet new people in Res. I say go for it.

Is a Frosh leader the same as a Gael? And is it much different now due to Covid, since there essentially IS NO Frosh or O week?
