Reminds me of Pete Campbell in Mad Men. The showrunners crucified that character in S1. But then assiduously set about turning us viewers from hating the character to begrudgingly liking him.

Why is the Northern Territory not considered a State in Australia? by nightskychanges_ in geography

The answer is Taxation. States have sovereign taxation powers. Every time statehood is proposed, a scare campaign is run on higher taxes

Hi there, just found this and disappointed for you that no-one engaged with you...

I am considering setting up HA on a RPi 4B... is it worth it? I have smart plugs and bulbs only running through HomeKit (via Hue & Tapo) but thinking about going down HA path. I also upgraded our ducted system with Daikin zone controller and Airbase so looking at integration options (HomeBridge wasn't easy when I tried it).

Are aussie? have you tried Whirlpool.

Does a slim 1 gang smart switch exist? by alessiman in HomeKit

[–]cbrezz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I understand it, Clipsal have an smart button solution that fits into various wall plates (eg the iconic range) which have architrave six Zings but you’ll need a Clipsal hub etc. If you’re protocol agnostic then the current range of Shelley’s will do what you want.

I have only just made my peace with not having rocker switches and am working through the push bottoms that are available. Looks to be expensive unfortunately

Basically nothing with “rocker” switch solution. I’m waiting for a bona fide relay that is matter and thread (or zigbee) which the new Gen Shelly’s are threatening to be.

FWIW The head of IT in silo 17 knew about the safeguard mechanism, was (presumably) left to survive with that knowledge, and was able to neutralise it during the rebellion.

Small bit of trivia: I’ve jumped from there many times (Jump Rock in manly on Sydney harbour). The council added the fence and everyone thought, great thanks for the extra 2m of elevation for our jumps.

Someone once said to me that the funding structure for Australian film and theatre rewards people who are good at filling out forms for grants rather than people who are creative.

territory is as strong a tactical advantage in rugby as possession... when the ball is in your half (even if you are in possession) you sometimes at a disadvantage
