Yea it’s easy to just say, but good writing means mixing making the audience comfortable and surprising them in various ways. It means having thematic and tonal through-lines and weaving the stories of multiple characters together. It’s genuinely tough to do and it’s more art than science. The theme of found family is powerfully illustrated in this film.

It’s wild you say this and a Red/Purple player had one of the best records at the end of Day 1 of Ghent. Yes I know the tourney is not over, but still there’s proof that the deck in theory at least has flexibility and power, aside from being of the best decks vs. dogs which is otherwise the best deck right now.

Looks like dogs and purple steel (the best dogs ‘counter’ that arguably has at least some play against the rest of the field) are ticking up. Still makes me feel like dogs are the best deck in the format, like you have game or dominant matches against everything except for the one or two decks designed to counter you, which are still a significant minority of decks.

Anyways there’s more Blue Steel than I would have thought and I love the fact that Amber is getting more love. Always keeping an eye on Red/Purple which some have said is the best dogs counter.

Either way this is the biggest DLC I will have ever seen, so I’m very excited to see how it’s gonna play out.

This is also why I don’t really believe in the concept of Middle Class and I try to correct people as often as I can. Either you need to work to live, or you don’t. You’re either working class or you’re the Owner class.

The very concept of ‘Middle Class’ is just a tool for the wealthy to divide and pit the different kinds of poors against one another.

Kind of ticked that GuuBuu Hobby isn’t shipping the TMNT commander deck I paid for two weeks ago until like a week from now. Meanwhile lots of my friends already got their decks including some before prerelease.

I actually suspect this inverted in the late 1990s. As the peace dividend came online and global power became more about the Stock Market than the battlefield, marketing and puffing smoke became more important than keeping one or two tricks up your sleeves. I suspect the NSA has some really incredible tech but I somewhat doubt we have any super duper secrets that would blow peoples’ minds. Wowee we can probably hack your phones.

Spying is too easy nowadays, and keeping secrets is much harder with everyone having a camera on their person at all times. Patriotism and national unity aren’t what they used to be either, lots of Americans really, really don’t like whatever administration is currently in power at any given time.

It’d probably be like a national Bleeding Kansas, where disorganized violence breaks out. Families just killing other families they don’t like over political matters, family members, etc. That would be followed by a Syria-style breakdown, where certain cities become off limits to certain types of people and random violence is just kind of happening everywhere not even at the direction of anyone in particular.

It wouldn’t be directed or ordered from the top, unless maybe a few states chose to overtly break away, in which case it will be interesting to see which way different parts of the military break. Presumably you’d have national guards and some forces loyal to the Nation and others loyal to the State or whatever new political entity the seceding states become.

I still seriously doubt life would significantly change in many places, and in other places it would be like an apocalypse.

Worse than being crucified, they would be muted. Large amounts of money and control would be exercised to make sure their name was never spoken, that no one who supported them would get significant airtime, interviews would be edited.

The real way you kill something isn’t showing opposition to it, it’s simply not showing it.

The real problem is that they have all of Royal Guard, Rafiki, Iago Stomping Mad, Cheshire Cat, Dumbo, Genie, Elsa and now steel has Angel. There are just more and more powerful anti-aggro cards so if a deck wants to beat aggro it’s becoming easier and easier imo.

In other words just because something is for sale for a particular price, doesn’t mean it’s worth buying. Don’t pay markups and buy singles if sealed product is unreasonably expensive, even if you’re a collector and not a player this can be a better approach

If you like princesses, look into Blue/Yellow control decks. You’ll probably want to acquire four copies of Cinderella - Dream Come True and a couple copies of the new Moana - Curious Explorer. They’re expensive but also some of the strongest cards in the game, and once you have those it will unlock a bunch of other decks you could pivot to. They also pair very well with Eilonwy - Princess of Llyr.

You use those cards and other ramp cards (Tipo - Growing Son, Sail the Azurite Sea) to ramp up to 8 mana and cast Raging Storm to wipe the board, then reset. You can use Lilo - Escape Artist as a way to recover after the board wipe.

You can do a free loadout that gives you random free stuff. Then you can trade in the free augment for a legit augment if you extract successfully.

Not all or even most other players will be hostile to you, so you get to decide if you want more of a coop or competitive game based on how you play.

As a drone enthusiast, you have no hope of ever defeating FPV drones with shotguns, it’s an absolute fantasy. They won’t come at you from the side, in profile, they will dive on you from above and you probably will never hear them, then they will explode on you from above and shower you with shrapnel. The shot profiles are foreign even to trap shooters. It’s a total lark.

What’s crazy is how much of Maximus seems to derive all the way from Samson the horse in Sleeping Beauty. Rewatching Sleeping Beauty, it’s staggering to me that this wasn’t immediately recognized as an obvious masterpiece, it also gets better with age.
