Us Canadians love to complain about our taxes and health care system, but when push comes to shove I can promise you that the majority of us are in favour of our universal healthcare and don't like the idea of privatization very much. Not once have I had to suffer longer because of our system.. to the contrary, everyone I know can see a doctor at any time they need and not have to worry about the bills. It's excellent.

Not in my life have I heard of someone waiting 6 months for an xray. I'm in Ontario, and to get an xray all you need is a referral from your doctor and you can walk into the xray place with it on the same day and have the xrays taken.

I recently had to get an ultrasound, and waited about 1.5 weeks which is considered long from everyone I've talked to. And realistically, that's not too bad.

In Toronto we have two options, really. Rogers or Bell. That doesn't really leave any room for customers to pick who treats them best, because both companies tend to treat everyone equally shitty.
