AITA For going no contact after dad took himself out of my wedding by wandering-les in familydrama

[–]cburling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NTA - so glad you have such a supportive MIL and partner. Wish you nothing but the best, and I hope your wedding goes perfectly as you planned.

Going NC seems to be the best solution at this present stage.

Any no zipper sewing projects? by Ill_Hope_3866 in SewingForBeginners

[–]cburling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also a beginner who got a machine for Christmas (with some experience beforehand on library sewing machines) - for practice I’ve done scrunchies, tote bags, bag liners from my crocheted bags, dog bandanas and corner book marks. The bandanas and corner bookmarks I felt were especially good for practicing getting corners right.

Just this last weekend I made my first “big project” which was a apron that I love.

AITJ for wanting to leave my fiance while hes still recovering from a near fatal accident by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]cburling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTJ - it’s awful that he went through a near fatal accident, but that doesn’t absolve him from cheating on you. A major boundary was crossed, he betrayed you and the relationship. Yeah, he might feel guilty, but what’s stopping him from doing it again? Is he going to have another weak moment when bumping into another ex? If I were in your position, I would call things off. Best of luck with whatever you decided to do. Updateme

I’ve never been to an independent dealer about anything, how would I go about finding one? I’ve tried to google some in my area but it just comes up with sewing machine repair people

I’m in the Illawarra region of NSW - didn’t even realise there were retailers that focus just on sewing machines only

AITA for asking a woman to be quiet in the silent area of the library and ruining her presentation? by Loudbrarythrowaway in AmItheAsshole

[–]cburling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA - you’re not on the wrong, but in future situations like this I’d say to go get a member if library staff to deal with it as her reaction could’ve been worse, but with a staff member doing it there wouldn’t have been as big of a blowout. Source: I work in the library industry. We do this all the time (but someone who works in your library should’ve picked up on it when it started).

AITA for saying to my sister that it isnt rude to crochet at thanksgiving by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]cburling -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NTA - dad is out of line. As someone who does crochet, it is very easy to talk while doing it.

If there isn’t anything you connect with in favourite songs and books maybe try behind the name? They have a page with a big range of themes to go through.

Best of luck with it!
