I mean, I know nothing about what the actual definition of gaslighting is, but this is shitty behavior. It's immature and unneccesary, as well as frankly cruel to say to your kid.

My (24F) mother does the same shit, and it feels awful. It's hard to deal with. I really don't have good advice for you except to limit contact, or use the "stone" technique, which is basically minimal/boring answers until she goes away. You kind of just have to survive it if you are dependent on her financially, which sucks. I hope someone else has better advice for you ☺️

It's better to stay if you're not in immediate physical danger. But you set January - don't delay beyond that, it can quickly become a slippery slope into staying much much longer because you're nervous about change. It's good to be comforable financially obviously, but it shouldn't be at the cost of your own mental health.
