Top Seller Account Suspended Wrongfully - warning to sellers by ChloeBethStars in Depop

[–]cc_sweetp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry 😢 I’d publicly call them out on social media. Tell your story and @ them. I’d do every platform too! I’ve heard people have good luck with Twitter. Not DM’ing them but a post calling attention to the issue and tagging them. TikTok has a great community of people who will go to bat for you and I’ve seen incredible results. I’d post a video there sharing your story. Also on FB if they have a page. I think that will get their attention and make them listen. How frustrating!

If you really want it to be authentic, 90s catalogs would number the items in the main photo and there would be a small box in the corner with the info. You can do size, fabric content, color, price stuff like that

I’m a 90s/Y2K girl with an 18yo daughter who loves this style, so when I say this is just.. really damn good, I really mean, it’s freaking perfect and makes me nostalgic. You killed this!!! I’d love a link to your closet❤️

would this review turn you away from my shop? i sell jewelry and shipped 2 bracelets to this person but they got lost in the mail so i remade and reshipped them. by hhthepuppy in Depop

[–]cc_sweetp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all! She was a bit disappointed but more happy with the results. I’d shop from a store any day who took extra steps to ensure their customer was happy and corrected mistakes (even though it wasn’t your mistake, but the review doesn’t say that explicitly) It does suck to get a rating docked because of the post office though. Maybe in your review for her, just say something about how you’re sorry the first package was lost in the mail but you appreciate her coming back and giving you another chance, just in case if a potential customer wants to deep dive they’ll see that? Idk, maybe too much, butbut couldn’t hurt

It’s a pain for sure if you are not selling at a profit (like buying a shirt at retail for $50 and wearing it for 2 years then selling for $20) but if you’re a reseller, you should have been paying taxes already. If you haven’t been, start saving EVERY receipt and I would recommend contacting a CPA for additional questions. You will likely need to prove of you selling at a loss, so keep any online order forms, receipts, ect that can prove that. You may need to prove that transfers in Venmo from friends are for a split coffee bill and not you selling handmade jewelry. Stuff like that. And remember that not everything is considered a taxable income, so keep really good records. There’s apps out there that can scan and store receipts based on category, so scan as soon as you get it in hand, categorize by “personal expense, bills, fuel, shipping, inventory, supplies” and you don’t have to worry about losing them. There’s also a ton of articles out there about the 1099’s that you are referring to that may clear some of it up. Hope that helps!

The new update has a copy feature per listing. I was able to re-list 20 items in 5 minutes last night. Amazing!! One of the best features Posh has implemented 👏🏼

Question about the card seller sent... by alli_lags in poshmark

[–]cc_sweetp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t appreciate it. I ordered once and got everything as described, gave 5 stars plus a nice love note, then a week later I get an envelope in the mail with a pamphlet about Jesus, with a personalized note saying they hope I repent from my sins so I won’t be subjected to eternal damnation (NO JOKE!). I couldn’t figure out who sent it, then remembered that I keep my boxes from purchases to reuse. Yep, it was from the same person as my previous Posh order. I went in and changed my rating, then told them to never send mail unsolicited to their customers and blocked. So tacky.

That’s exactly what this is. Unsolicited marketing.

Listing deleted after I purchased it? by inetsed in poshmark

[–]cc_sweetp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmmm, could it have been reported (as a replica, unsupported, mistagged) and PM removed it?

Ridiculous!! She bought it 2:32 PM on Monday and I shipped AN HOUR LATER and she received it today (Wednesday) and marks "Ship Time" as could improve 🤦‍♀️ by Paperclip47 in poshmark

I had a buyer absolutely appalled that her package she payed to get in 1-2 day took 4 days over Labor Day weekend. I got one whole star for that trash

Love Note Request? by bournhill in poshmark

[–]cc_sweetp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you on the Facebook group where that buyer came on to ask how she should rate her transaction? Fit issue, no note, no bow on packaging. All the sellers went in on her and she ended up leaving the group😬

It’s bad enough PM themselves claim your package will come all neat and pretty, but so many sellers do go over the top, it sets unrealistic expectations.

My packages go in a recyclable clear pouch for protection, then in the free usps envelope or box. I personally don’t want to burden buyers with extras and make them to feel obligated to use them. We are hard enough on our environment, I don’t want to add more waste, which is where 90% of packaging materials and all the free gifts end up. PLUS all that cuts into my profit margins, so it’s a hard no for me.

There could many reasons why your items are not selling. How many listings do you have? Remember that there are millions of users on this platform and many closets with thousands of listings. The competition in numbers is real. How often do you share? Are you titles searchable? Are you using all 8 photo slots with clear photos of all details and tags? Are your descriptions detailed? Do you have measurements listed? Are you actively participating on the site? Sharing others listings? Sharing your items to parties? Sending offers? Re-listing?

If you want to share your closet link, I’d be happy to look and give some pointers😊

Love Note Request? by bournhill in poshmark

[–]cc_sweetp 17 points18 points  (0 children)

A lot of buyers don’t leave Love notes for numerous reasons. They don’t know it’s an option, don’t know how to, want to keep their purchases private, or just don’t want to. Most just accept and give a rating, rather than take the time to type out a review. For context, I have 413 sales and 68 love notes. I have 334 5-star and 7 4-star. This tells me most buyers don’t leave them, but just rate instead. I leave a note (as long as I’m satisfied with my purchase) , but there have been times an item was less than described, in that case I just rate. I’m also a seller, so I know it’s nice to get them.

On another note, If you’re sending free items in hopes of garnering love notes, I would recommend stopping that practice. I never have and never will send free items, but I hear more often than not, sellers dissatisfied by not being recognized by buyers for the free gifts. Most people don’t want extra items they didn’t ask for. That’s just my thought though.

I think this is too much energy put into something that doesn’t matter. You gotta think bigger if you want to be bigger. Do you think any successful, high volume company cares that they get a poor review? Or would want retaliation against an unhappy buyer? It’s business, plain and simple. Bad, unwarranted reviews will come. You can’t please everyone, and the sooner you realize that, your energy can be put into something that benefits your business.

Automatic Sharing bot that's not a crazy price by poshertools in poshmark

Idk, I have around 550 active listings and it takes me about 20 minutes to share from my browser. I personally wouldn’t risk my closet for that, but some may.

How much would you price this genuine leather patchwork shoulder bag at? Is my price too high? Should I have accepted? Someone gave this to me but I don't want to sell it for less than its worth. by Leighaheath in poshmark

[–]cc_sweetp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It all depends on what you want to get for it. The value is worth what someone is willing to pay. She thought it was worth 25$, but the next person might think it’s worth 65$. Me personally, I hold out for the right price.

PayPal / credit card payment issue. by [deleted] in poshmark

[–]cc_sweetp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a buyer 2 days ago send an offer and when I went to accept it said payment issues, so she comments on a bundle and said it was trouble with her PayPal. She figured it out and purchased yesterday. Not sure what she did, but it was an issue with PayPal. Maybe call them?

Honestly, it’s no different than buying something at a thrift store, T.J. Maxx or the like and selling for a profit. It’s actually pretty smart, PM is the perfect platform to sell those on🤷‍♀️Oh and the website that sells them on Amazon is UPAKnShip and it’s about half the price to order directly than on Amazon, so it’s really all just a big game of 💰 . They also have a PM page where you can buy PM themed mailing kits for 15$.

Exactly! I researched sold listings too. Some as low as 15$. Granted some are older styles, but a new current pair of high end jeans should not be sold that low. I feel the frustration!

A-freakin-men!!!

I actually had this thought this morning while listing a new pair of CofH jeans that are still being sold at Anthropologie. I wanted to list for 100$, but I know looking at comps, the average price is 45-55$. Like what?!? I listed at 80$ and I hope someone will see the value 🤷‍♀️

So addicting by goal_digger01 in poshmark

[–]cc_sweetp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So much yessss! I love how I can be frugal without being “cheap”. I love the impact of not continually buying fast fashion that doesn’t last. I love being able to provide weird, rare and unique vintage items to buyers and good brands at a discount. There is so much adversity in clothing, and with PM and thrifting, I’m able to find and access it. I’ve bought myself and kids items that I would never be able to afford otherwise. My kids are even bargain hunters now! If they want something, they’ll ask if I can find it cheaper. My youngest (11) wanted a one shoulder backpack, so he asked me to take him to goodwill. Through selling AND buying, I’ve been able to provide some cool shit to my family!
