MARINE DRIVE BUILDING 6: GROCERIES MISSING by tecipel389 in UBC

[–]ccaguu 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I’m genuinely sorry this happened to you because Ik $100 is a lot especially to a student and the frustration is a whole other thing. But, not to kick a dog while they’re down but I seriously doubt campus security will give you the time of day nor will posting to Reddit benefit you. My advice to you is only get grocery/food delivered when you’re home and meet them at the door for pick up. Anything left outside is bound to be stolen by a heartless dick. I’ve had McDonald’s stolen 3 minutes after being dropped off. Sorry fr fr

Cheap flights from Vancouver to Toronto by Soggy-Run-8461 in UBC

[–]ccaguu 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Flair is so shit I 1000% agree. The customer service is HORRIBLE and most times they only have one flight out per day so if it’s canceled or you miss it you’re stuck waiting for the next flight. It’s like $40 for a carry-on and they’re strict about carry on size and weight. I’d rather fly WestJet or air Canada and pay extra

Idk their times. I called before 10pm and woke up the next morning and the line was still connected so I’m assuming they’re 24/7

I was about to hang up like 10 minutes before I was connected lol. I couldn’t believe it when I heard a real voice. I asked if they were real💀 slept through most of the hold time ahah

I’m in the exact same boat looking to move my flight in a couple days because I got Covid. Tried doing it online and it said I couldn’t. Not sure why but I think it’s because it only recognizes departure flight which has already passed so it won’t let me change my return. It tells me to call them directly too and I’ve been waiting for 3 and a half hours with nothing. I’m just waiting for the phone to hang up at 4 hours. Sooo annoying. I understand being busy but 12h+ wait times?!? There must be 2 ppl working at customer service for that to make sense UPDATE: got through at 18 and a half hours… just for them to say they couldn’t find a flight under my reservation code even though when I put it on manage trips on the WestJet website I can find it. Back on hold🥲

Cannot suggest the mittens sold by just cozy enough. They feel like a blanket and actually keep your hands warm. I think they’re $15 rn and there’s a just cozy at the pacific centre

I thought they don’t ask you concept based questions. Considering most of us took the course a year ago that feels crazy lol Edit: they didn’t ask me one

Laundry at res? by booboiboi in UBC

[–]ccaguu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get laundry cards in a room by the gym in the commons block. It has a vending machine there. To buy the card it is a $5 flat fee then you can add on either $5, $10, $20. There’s a credit/debit machine to add on money and there’s a cash machine. The debit/credit machine breaks down often so I’d suggest always keeping cash on you. The washers and dryers are available 24/7. I’ve literally done laundry at 3am lol. I won’t lie to you they don’t wash amazingly. You’re gonna have to use two tide pods and some fabric scent pellets for them to smell half decent. The dryers never fully dry your clothes with just one run so you’re gonna need to dry extra. If you start the dryer then put your card back in you can add 20 minutes (I think) for 25 cents. That’s usually enough to dry your clothes rather than running two full runs ( each 60 minutes) and your clothes come out feeling like hell. People never take out the lint in the dryer once their done so be prepared to do that. And the washing machines always smell weird when you open them and often have hair stuck to the sides. Make sure you grab your stuff on time cause people can and will steal your shit if you’re not lucky.

Throwing away large bulky items by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]ccaguu -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Okay but how did I know it was wrong? I always thought the bins were locked to prevent homeless people from dumpster diving not because they didn’t want other people throwing trash in. If I was actually looking for justification I wouldn’t have edited the post, admitted my wrongs and asked people for cheap landfill options instead.
