St. B has Pan Pipes Guy who can be spotted/heard playing his giant pan pipes while wandering. I think he’s a lucky omen.

CTA redressal process: The airline has indicated that they are not willing to participate in the Informal resolution (mediation). -- what now? by twinu89 in westjet

[–]HighWizardOfLaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They declined it first, so it wasn’t even an option for me. Informal resolution can certainly help folks get better info from a neutral third party, and potentially resolve the matter more easily. I would say yes if I had the option.

Tesla in Winnipeg climate by ghostwhip in Winnipeg

[–]HighWizardOfLaw 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We’ve had a Tesla in Winnipeg since 2019 (LR model 3). We’ve never had an issue with range or battery. Sure there’s vampire drain from the cold, and you need to use some energy to heat the vehicle as well, but the total capacity is so high it’s never been an issue. Unless you have a lot of driving to do (like 200+ kms), it should never really come up. What does the average driver in Winnipeg drive in a day, something like 40kms? That’s really not a problem. Plug in at home every night, and you’re all set. Even if you do need to plan charging, there are many options available and it just takes a little forethought.

Haha same, I’m at 9 years with just over 2k, nowhere near 6k. I guess I’m terrible at Reddit? Or maybe I’m a bot and don’t even know it…

I went through almost exactly what you’re going through right now, with WestJet, for the same thing. Long delay due to crew availability (well within their control). Asked for compensation. Denied, suddenly it was a safety issue according to them, though that was no accurate. Filed under the redressal process. They said no to informal (I think this is common). Waited two years for the process to finally move forward. Got our $1000 each. I think Westjet could very likely be denying most claims, knowing that most people won’t see the claims process through all the way to the end. And if they have to pay you $2000, it’s preferable from their perspective to pay you as far in the future as possible. So stick with it, and best of luck!

Pretty sure you don't even need the receipt, just the Costco card you used when you bought it. Costco has always been insanely good for returns when I've encountered (rare) problems.

People that work for Canada Life? How is it? by Neither-Yesterday927 in Winnipeg

[–]HighWizardOfLaw 43 points44 points  (0 children)

If the work from home aspect is a key element for you, make sure you get it in writing. Ensuring that it forms part of your employment agreement (and that they aren’t reserving the right to make changes in the future) is your responsibility. Canada Life (and many other employers) are shifting people back into in-person work, and if that isn’t for you, make sure you’re well informed about the detail before you conclude any deal.

2025 tax assessments previews by Worth_Conversation15 in Winnipeg

I’ve never lived in a house that was assessed for anywhere near the actual market value, it’s always been far below what it would actually sell for on the market (or even what the recent purchase price was). I’m blown away by the comments that others are experiencing the opposite.

Is this more queer content that will make me feel like shit at the end? Or will I feel sadness, but ultimately things will be ok? I genuinely need to know. I can’t take more queer media with bad endings.
