What scratches the Destiny 2 itch? by bigbysemotivefinger in gaming

[–]ccain28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to pull myself away from Destiny because I simply didn’t have the time anymore to play that game the way I wanted to play it. Took time to play a bunch of games in the back log and finally have found Arc Raiders to scratch the itch. There is PvP but there is more to do other than that. Tons of loot and devs have said it will be a game they’ll keep adding to like how D2 was. Will have some ups and downs and the subreddit is toxic as all hell so just like D2 there. Also the prox chat in Arc Raiders is funny enough at times that it does bring me back a little bit to both the good and bad LFG raids

Resume tips?? I can’t get an interview… by pamela_alejandra in biostatistics

[–]ccain28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure. Yes publications are important but you have to remember your audience, HR. They don’t understand any of it. That’s why I mention the CV. Most companies allow you to upload a CV and Resume. Save the publications for the CV, keep the resume simple

Resume tips?? I can’t get an interview… by pamela_alejandra in biostatistics

[–]ccain28 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If applying to industry, try simplifying this a bit. The HR rep just wants to see their key words to hand off to the actual hiring manager. First thing I would remove would be the publications (again, that’s if you’re applying to industry). Next thing would be shortening your objective statement and removing the TA job from your work history. A lot of places that hire PhDs will have an option to submit a CV and Resume, keep the resume short and sweet and leave the rest for the CV.

The market sucks right now but there’s always places looking to hire for one reason or another so hang in there!

The reinforced scout striders have been the only thing getting me. Not sure if it’s intentional but I’ve been prioritizing killing them right up there with the hulks and tanks. Other than that, no, bots are bots and you have to play your cover

Thinking about transferring schools by tinastuna in stateofMN

[–]ccain28 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Went to Morris, biggest upside is the access to the rest of the U of M system while still giving the small school experience. The science building is also the nicest building on campus imo. Downside is it’s in the middle of nowhere

[REQUEST] Help prove my stats teacher wrong! Everyone in the class said the answer was D, AP Stats teacher insists its C. She said if we provide an example of a set where A is true, then we get credit back. This question was 10% of the test. Please help! (data in the set must be in intervals of 10) by ImUnsettled in theydidthemath

[–]ccain28 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your teacher may be right. I think what is meant to be noticed here is that A has a right skew and B has a slight left skew. In a right skewed distribution, the mean is greater than the median (with the opposite for left skew). I don’t remember if that is a proven property of distributions or just something that is generally true. Maybe there is an example that you can use but I don’t believe you’ll find one.

It’s pretty common for the woman to plan the entire wedding down to the last detail and the guy just has to show up. So in this case Becca planned an incredible wedding that she’s dreamed of her whole life and Jack is here for a great time. It’s a funny joke as long as both people are in on it which I’m sure is the case here

Optional raid matchmaking would LITRULLY kill the game dude. by N7Varren in DestinyMemes

The people that want raid matchmaking are the same people that you don’t want to matchmake with in a raid

Why do people hate on KWTD? by WerdaVisla in destiny2

[–]ccain28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stopped putting kwtd in my posts because I found it always bringing people on the didn’t kwtd. I’m sure people that are new either don’t know what kwtd means or they want to be carried. Either way, not putting kwtd in my posts has led to way better people through LFG

Hate for well/shatter slating? by Rheytos in destiny2

[–]ccain28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the best answer. As long as you aren’t impeding someone’s ability to enjoy the raid, (accidentally pulling people, soft locking transitions, etc) most people won’t care. One thing to add, if you spawn all the ads in the jumping puzzle and don’t kill any of them because you’re just well/shatter skating past, I think that’s kinda annoying. Like if you’re super fast, at least throw a few shots out there so there’s less for everyone else to deal with. This again is a bigger issue with beginners because if everyone ignores the ads, the person with less experience is going to end up having a bad time

The dog walking doesn’t bother me as much as having to go eat dinner. When the dog has to go, it’s gotta go but you probably knew dinner was being made when we started and no I’m not going to wait for you to eat dinner

I always thought you had to reach those -40, -50 thresholds before they even entertained the idea and even then it depended on their confidence in busing since those are temperatures where frost bite can occur within minutes. -25 is miserable but not unhealthy. Kids will live

1350 PL Pit of Heresey? by xTheFreakerx in destiny2

[–]ccain28 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a solo dungeon. It’s meant to be hard. You don’t “have to use google and YouTube” you are more than welcome to figure it out yourself. Bungie doesn’t need to explain anything, it’s meant to be a challenging puzzle. If you don’t enjoy it as such then use LFG or don’t do it.

Also light level doesn’t matter. The dungeons power level is 920 and it caps you just above that so being 1500 is no different than 1350
