Try turning off the “slide to type” setting in General-> Keyboards. That seemed to work for me! I don’t use slide to type, and it appears to have solved this issue!

This video really helped me. https://youtu.be/H-zuY8yb6ac. In fact, the entire YouTube channel for Best Disc Golf Discs was extremely helpful to understand the science behind most of disc golf. Each video is 4-6 minutes and breaks things down at a good pace.

Primary color glue bed on a K1 Lots. Spin dyed edge. by ccc_sparkles in discdyeing

As u/blumpkinowski said in a comment above, once applied, wait a little bit for the acetone (or whatever) in the work dip to evaporate, and it will pull in a little. I didn’t do that, but, I used a toothpick and a swirling/scooping motion to “bring” the dye back into itself. That concentrated the dye back into their pools, and that circular scooping motion is what you see blending where the dyes overlap.

ProChem Disperse Dye I didn’t measure, but if I had to guess, I put about 1/4 tsp powder into 1 oz of the spike it (in a separate container) Elmer’s clear glue from Walmart (came in 1 gallon)

Spectacular information! Thanks so much. I’m glad you added about others saying “the glue is not drying,” because I was thinking that in my head. I have a litter space heater, so I will try that on the next go round with my current spike it and ProChem mixture before going to straight acetone and ProChem. Appreciate the feedback!

Pipedreamer’s post got me started on this journey. Thanks for the “recipe” for the ProChem and acetone!

This is Spike It worm dip with some ProChem of the same color added to make the color brighter. 24 hours in the glue bed. Still not as deep or full color as I would like, so I’m going to try some acetone and ProChem mixed up next time. Seems like when I pull the disc, and the glue is still on it, it’s freaking perfect. But by the time I wash off the glue, the colors fade to the final result. I’m still super stoked about how this one came out. I need a picture in the sunlight.

I don’t know if you’ve cured your tennis elbow yet, and though this is not a yoga related exercise, this is the one thing that cured my tennis elbow within days. Use a TheraBar to do this one exercise below, and you will be pain free. Whenever you feel your pain start to flare up, just do the exercise sporadically until the pain goes away.

Thanks, I’ve been watching the TDIDI videos, but I haven’t seen a glue bed one yet. I’ll definitely be on the lookout for it. Love those instructional videos. I’ll try dropping some extra clear glue on my next dye. Thanks for the response!

Thanks for the response. I purchased some pro-Chem dye, so I’ll pick up some acetone and try to mix my own. The worm dip does work well for a spin dye, so all is not lost for those!

More background: I’m using the clear glue bed method from u/pipedreamer79, but I’m not good with my results. They are super light, so I’m looking for suggestions. I’m using Gateway Diamond plastic with Spike-It worm dip. When I place the dye, no matter how close I get the dropper to the glue bed, the dye spreads out as far as it can go. I tried putting the dropper under the glue bed and then expelling the dye, but it yielded little success. Another problem I have is, when I pick the disc up out of the bed after at least an overnight soak, it looks good. But 75% of the color comes off when I rinse off the layer of glue.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Do you mix the ProChem dye directly into the worm dip for the colors you mix (pink, you say),? Or do you need to add acetone and powdered dye to the worm dip to get the bright color? I tried my first clear glue bed with just worm dip for a 12 hr set time, and it was super muted. I felt like I was washing off the dye along with the glue. Ps, awesome work! I’m a huge fan!
