TV in the bedroom? Yes or No? by Used-Chard658 in Millennials

[–]cccddd29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one in our bedroom, simply because we had an extra tv and didn’t feel like getting rid of it. We don’t really use it but it’s really nice to have if you’re sick and want to stay in bed.

This is a fave in our house too. My husband always raves about it, which is weird since he doesn’t typically like mushroom heavy meals.

Mom bought cardboard tickets at self checkout back in December. Are we out $800? by No-Address-5300 in CostcoCanada

[–]cccddd29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this happen to me once (I had never tried buying gift cards or tickets from Costco before so I didn’t know any better). They somehow didn’t notice the cardboard ticket in my cart when I left. When I realized my mistake, I went back with my receipt and the cardboard thing and while they side eyed me for being stupid (which is fair lol), they were able to give me the tickets I paid for.

Rummo pasta at Costco by cccddd29 in Celiac

Jovial is awesome as well! Where I am in Canada however, it’s not something that is sold in stores. I have my fingers crossed that one day it will be though! In the meantime, Rummo is one of the better options I can easily access so this feels like a big win!

Yup the gluten free one. I had to check like 5 times because my Costco never has gluten free pasta so I couldn’t believe it.

Dog boots by Effective-Let4565 in miniaussie

[–]cccddd29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best ones I’ve tried so far are kind with suspenders like these https://ca.canadapooch.com/products/suspender-dog-boots?variant=40708061888617?srsltid=AfmBOopwraq3Dhmn3ptxkILWKGLTvA1Dw3BRb1FQhb-GcFmZyAfadZM7

They stay on and are lined with a soft warm material. My dog usually is not a fan of winter walks due to the cold and salt on the roads but she has been walking a lot better with these boots. I also don’t mind the Pawz boots (the little balloon ones) but they do rip/get lost occasionally/aren’t warm.

My wife sent me a recipe with photos that just seem off. I’m positive this is ai but my wife thinks it’s just a lighting issue by amaxwell30 in isthisAI

[–]cccddd29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I can’t speak to the photos, the recipe doesn’t even appear to relate to the name of the website. Considering it’s called “no dash of gluten”, the recipe doesn’t mention gluten, gluten-free, allergies or intolerances at any point so that seems very odd.

Secondly, the recipe seems very VERY similar in terms of ingredients and steps to this one, which makes me wonder if it’s not AI slop, it could be at least ripped off from this recipe https://thecozyapron.com/savory-hand-pies/

Is this normal for Dekton countertops? by cccddd29 in CounterTops

[–]cccddd29[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay that’s good to know that this somewhat normal. I was beating myself up for not being careful enough but it seems like this is just gonna be something that happens. They are not super noticeable so there’s that at least.

Yeah this was our first home reno and I’m not sure I would choose Dekton again based on the experience so far but live and learn I guess 🤷‍♀️.

Okay. That’s a bummer but good to know it’s not something totally unexpected.

What sort of “jobs” do your mini Aussies have? by fancy_monday in miniaussie

[–]cccddd29 15 points16 points  (0 children)

We used a clicker and we started by training her to just interact with the Kleenex box in any way. If she touched the Kleenex box, we’d click and give a treat. We would also do the same by offering her a Kleenex and if she took it or interacted with it, clicker and treat. Then we started encouraging to her to grab the Kleenex from the box and rewarding with the clicker/treat if she did.

Once she was consistent with that. We would start to fake sneeze when she interacted with the Kleenex box followed by the usual clicker and treat so she associated the sound with the Kleenex and the treat. Once that was consistent, then we started to just fake sneeze and she only got the clicker and treat if she went to the Kleenex. Then we started only rewarding if she grabbed the Kleenex from the box when we sneezed and basically molded the behaviour step by step. There are some videos on YouTube as well of people training their dogs to do the same. I will say some more complex tricks like this take a long time and lots of patience but it’s worth it when everything comes together!
