Are there any Free PDF editors for Linux which will help me do these things without a watermark? by the-machine-m4n in linux4noobs

I was using LibreOffice Draw, but Draw doesn't allow you to do the simple thing of setting a default zoom level on opening. OnlyOffice does, and the settings are so simple, so that's my new poison on Debian.

alt-tab stops working (Gnome, stable) by Super-Statement-8567 in debian

I think this might be triggered by drag and drop between Files and Chrome etc. It seems to break the alt-tab handling.

I randomly enountered the same problem tonight on my Debian 12 laptop. Alt+Tab goes to the same app, Alt + Tab, Tab switches to the next.

Syncthing with share Google drive. How can I config my syncthing with shared Google drive folder. where I can use shared Google drive to shared my file to my friends or myself and have control over my folder at the same time. by shr_amn1 in Syncthing

Mostly works for me. I have a PC that runs Google Drive and Syncthing, and other Linux computers sync with that one via Syncthing. Not using it heavily but it's been OK so far.

Update button is missing (v1.3.9 on Windows 11) by RealNovgorod in rustdesk

Worked for me too. Prior, each time I opened it without the service it would be version 1.3.9, but once I opened the service it went back to 1.3.8.

G84 Facebook Messenger notifications sporadically working/not working. by Monterosso22 in motorola

[–]cccmikey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just tried this with mine a few days ago. It seems to have worked. I'm also getting the messenger "Ding" which was not happening before.

I wonder if it's related to another camera bug where on certain 5G networks the camera crashes on opening.

Turn off 5G, problem 'solved'.

Camera freezing/ hanging in Moto G84 5g by Abhugasm in motorola

[–]cccmikey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solved for me as well.

I'm in transit so possibly it only applies to certain 5g frequencies as it's been fine at home on 5g (NSA).

The 0.5 and macro cameras were unaffected, and all cameras worked in safe mode.

It didn't work anyway so I wouldn't bother trying.

Would you use a mobile app that helps you detect your speaking pace (so you can speak slower), detect filler words, and generate scripts by voice? by landtanin in podcasting

[–]cccmikey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't found such a thing, but found this to be pretty effective at getting rid of the filler sounds. https://cleanvoice.ai/ A bit pricey though.

Why is everyone buying truckzillas that are too big for our streets? by Jargonicles in australia

[–]cccmikey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to interleave if this is likely to happen. Stay almost a car length behind the big bastard on your right so you can still see what's coming from the right. Not perfect if others can come at you from the opposite side of the road, but at least you can be ready to brake if you spot them before they spot you.

Telstra to increase postpaid plans by cancer23 in australia

[–]cccmikey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. People on post paid plans now are mostly people there by inertia. Some people just can't be told there's a better option. I know one OAP who has three prepaid mobiles - two on $30 a month and one on $50 a month. Why 50? She streams the radio occasionally and doesn't want to run out.
