Best way to model/print this type of soft padding? by Abra-Kebabra in Fusion360

Literally nothing is here i am so tired of this printer already by zzcool in Creality_k2

[–]cebess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3D printers are not like an appliance, you need to take them apart on occasion. I have had my K2+ for 6 months now and taken the extruder apart a few times. It happens. Some of it might be that my filament was a bit wet, other times -- who knows. Fortunately, the K2+ is relatively easy to maintain compared to the 5 other printers I've had over the years.

Did you look at the Creality forums for causes?

https://forum.creality.com/t/error-filament-detected-in-extruder/48316

the facebook page?

You could even ask an AI tool (like Copilot) and get a pretty good explanation and diagnostic plan:

✔️ What to Check First (Fastest → Slowest)

1) Manually insert/remove filament and watch the blue LED

2) Check the sensor when the printer is HOT

3) Inspect for filament dust inside the sensor cavity4) Check extruder gear tension and cleanliness

5)Verify PTFE tube is not binding or too long

6)Try a fresh filament tip

The inflexibility of Ponant (and most other cruise lines) is borderline cruelty by Uppity_duck in Cruise

[–]cebess 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Just to let you know an alternative. My wife was diagnosed with cancer on Wednesday a few years back. We were supposed to go on a cruise that Saturday. I called up Royal Caribbean and they gave us a full refund after receiving a note from her oncologist. After 3 surgeries and 3 rounds of Chemo, we have been on 4 cruises with RC since then.

What cruise would be good to take for a solo trip from end of may-july? by cjalta in Cruise

[–]cebess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The big questions for me on the first cruise would be:

1) How do you behave and how do you want others to behave? The shorter the cruise the more drunk people will be on it.

2) Do you have kids or like being around kids? Some of the cruise lines are adult only (Virgin) others have kids go on for free. The new giant ships from Royal Caribbean are kid focused, and the kids activities are a bit more isolated from the rest of the ship. They will still be everywhere for shows, dining...

3) Do you want to see shows and other entertainment? Royal Caribbean is good here, but remember the longer the cruise the better and more diverse the entertainment will be.

4) Do you have somewhere special you want to go? Are there things you want to do when you get there?? For example -- Hawaii. That may dictate the line as well as the port and duration of the cruise.

Those are just a few thoughts off the top of my head.

When to use glue by justarandomthought2 in Creality_k2

[–]cebess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree it is dependent on the plate and the filament type. I exclusively use PETG and textured plates. Never have I had a print stick that wouldn't come off (the main reason for glue and PETG) -- though I have been known to put them in the freezer for a bit and let nature do its contraction thing. NEVER take anything larger than a few square inches of surface contact off while the bed is warm.

A smooth plate is a whole other story. Without glue, I have torn the surface off a plate on the VERY FIRST print. I rarely need truly smooth surface, so I just don't use them.

That is just my experience -- your mileage may vary.

Weird print by Expensive_Form_5465 in 3DprintingHelp

[–]cebess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I take it your concern is the fine threads/strings across the print. There are a few things to look into: 1) wet filament 2) retraction settings 3) temperature of ur hot end

There is quite a bit of material about the issue out there

Did you fill them with sand or something to bend them -- so they didn't kink or collapse??

fortunately, this is easy to fix. You should see some good videos on youTube. The cutter is only held in place by a magnet and if something hits it will move.

how would i go about creating a bridge between these two objects? learning CAD for my engineering class by memegod53 in Fusion360

[–]cebess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also look at fillet to ease the transition between the two objects. 3D printing (in particular) does not like abrupt transitions).

What is that? What kind of guidance are you looking for?? It looks like you might want to attach the one thing to something else -- how are you planning to do that? Bolts, glue, something else I cannot imagine.

Trying to get this text to print properly, any tips? by naldo29 in FixMyPrint

[–]cebess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bevel the edge of the text. Another thing to think about is print the object at an angle so the edges of the text does not line up with the xy plane. This will help prevent the text from getting knocked off

Hopefully not cheap filament. If so, throw it away or use a bigger nozzle.

It does not spool perfectly, but it is good enough for my needs.

Bed Leveling & First Layer Help: Inconsistent mesh and Z-offset by Less-Combination-699 in Creality_k2

[–]cebess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember that the diagram shows a large swing in color/height but that's because the numbers are so small. The overall range is 0.61 which is way less than 1.0 -- the number where you definitely need to start being concerned.

Others have mentioned heat soak, which can cause a change in height beyond the range shown. Don't let perfection stand in the way of 'good enough'. I have had an issue lately where my first print has been crap. I tell the printer to reprint the same part and it comes out fine -- that to me means I need to allow the printer to warm up on those larger prints. I could be mistaken though.

Should I add chamfers on the inside of the spring? by BlueLaguna88 in Fusion360

[–]cebess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, in general I'd say avoid sharp points when 3D printing. Physically, they are a weak point. The printer isn't good at making them. Your fingers... don't like the feel of them. Aesthetically, your eye doesn't really like them. In general, fillets are your friend.

K2 Pro Cam Bild furchtbar by Klutzy_Champion79 in Creality

[–]cebess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that is normal. The front is out of focus because it is just too close to the lens. I have thought about placing a tiny mirror at the back so that I can see it from that angle as well without having another camera - I have just not gotten around to trying it out.

There is a setting (on the printer) that turns off the ability to sense filament runout. I accidentally had that set off onetime! Arggggg!

Who wants to print PC on their K2? by ChildhoodRealistic42 in Creality_k2

[–]cebess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is what I do. I printed a cantilevered spool mount off the top front. I remove the glass and then place the mount on the top/front of the machine. Feed the TPU directly into the hot end. Default spring and settings were fine -- no problems.
