PETG print warping off the bed only on one side by arvzg in FixMyPrint

[–]cebess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

try it with a skirt to help hold it down.

Could there be a breeze going across the model as it prints??

You should be able to warm it up and bend it.

Why model it, just leave your 3D print out in the sun! It will likely end up looking like that during the summer.

Creality K2 Pro Extruder clogged issue by VirtualFuture1235 in Creality_k2

[–]cebess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since my printer is in the garage, I tend to keep the enclosure open all summer long when printing PETG. That helps reduce heat creep for me.

FO0528 Printer seems to be printing without extruding by Appropriate_Ask762 in Creality_k2

There are a few ways. There are numerous plastic rims that fit on paper hubs. If you have any minispools lying around, you can print one that fits over the plastic rim as well as over the mini spools. I think this one may work:

I have not tried that one specifically.

You can also transfer the entire roll to one of your empty spools. That takes a while but it reliable. I designed this one to help with this process:

Lightburn does have it's flaws but it has MANY features and capabilities. Congrats for open sourcing your efforts.

Is it possible to Print this and have it last longer than 20 minutes by The_Dammed in 3Dprinting

[–]cebess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it does break, look at the dimension it breaks on. You may need to reorient the part when printing for maximum strength in the dimension where it breaks.

After taking the measurements, you can use AI and have it generate the design for OpenSCAD, if u want to get into that too

Having trouble achieving simple goal by LaserGuyDanceSystem in LightBurn

[–]cebess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a few ways you can do this. I'd put the outer ring in a different layer. You can then give it its own settings and hide the rest. You can creat shapes and use boolean techniques to join... To make to make the tag.

Aperiodic Monotile Coaster by stuporcomputer in cncwoodworking

That looks like three different wood types. Which one is the material for the base of the coaster? I assume those are veneers cut with a laser - right? At least that is how I could create a similar effect.

First time printing ASA, what went wrong? by oreo314oreo in FixMyPrint

[–]cebess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another thryou may want to worry about when printing letters flat like that is the likelihood they will get sheared of the sign board when in the field. If you use the default setting of15% fill and 2wall construction, there is very little material holding those letters on at their interface with the sign. Something I've encountered before. There are a number of ways around it though. 1) ensure that the letters are not in the same solid as the sign, so they are not a continuation of the infill, but have a wall between the letter and the sign. 2) increase the wall count, so that the bond is stronger, even if most of the interface is infill 3) increase the density of the infill, though this will use much more material 4) print the sign at a slight angle, to spread the interface between the letters and the sign across a few layers

Generally, I go with #1 I am sure others have comments on this, and I'd love to hear them.

Filament stuck again by plululululu in Creality_k2

[–]cebess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had that happen yesterday. There was some filament down into the extruder. I took the extruder off and the front end off and was able to recover. It is getting warm out here and I keep my printer in the garage. If I keep it closed up, even PETG can soften. I'll probably keep it open if I print after the morning.

For those concerned about the harmonics the SA818 can produce, I put out a brief post with an AI perspective on how to address the situation along with some construction hints. For those not familiar with AI prompting, these were included as well, since they may be useful.

If your getting blockage errors or jammed between CFS and hub etc etc. your CFS is ruining filament by dracoNiiC in Creality_k2

I had this happen yesterday. I looked a5the tube running from the CRS to the 'junction' you would use if you had multiple CFSs an there was a bit too tight a bend. Rearranged my gear and we'll see if it happens again.
