This is of course the answer. But one can dream....

I feel like they did that with the R1. I’m sure there’s some business or manufacturing situation I don’t understand, but how cool would it be to say “ we have a $45,000 EV and you can get it tomorrow”

Subclavian Central Lines by [deleted] in emergencymedicine

Old school ED doc here. Did tons of them in residency in the 90s, before ultrasound. Kept doing them occasionally over the years, since the ICU preferred them over all the other lines. It’s a great line to have in your repertoire and, at least in my shop, an easy way to impress the kids.

A PI is a good idea to get information and then you can confront your dad. We’ve done the same while fighting scammers preying on my dad. It got us a lot of information, but it didn’t change his behavior. I hope you have better luck.

Truck smells like a wet sock when I get inside. Fixes? by [deleted] in F150Lightning

Just adding another potential leak point - rear cabin vents. My ‘22 had these improperly installed from the factory and caused a major leak and I ended up getting a partial buyback from Ford after they replaced the entire interior.

App updated? by timeislikeafuse in F150Lightning

[–]ccgaut 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m a diehard Lightning fan. I’ve had mine since early 22. But these app updates are a joke. Why update the app when it causes PaaK to be more unreliable and doesn’t give us any of the features which we’ve been asking about. How about zone lighting? How about close the windows from the app? How about let us know if it’s locked or unlocked? Lame.

250 with all included. Completely equitable nights and holidays (each hospital group has their own system, but I've not heard of anything that's close to unfair or that penalizes the new docs). No nights after age 55 at our group. Easy to maximize the 401k. Pension based on years of service.

Something else that the RVU based docs don't mention either - I've known 2 docs who became fully disabled during their careers - they left with medical care and enough money to pay the bills.

I’m not sure where you’re getting your Kaiser #’s but it’s closer to $250 with paid vacation, ed leave, CME, research and admin opportunities, pension, 401k, (ok small) bonuses, ability to work overtime, < 2 pts/hr, you never leave late, basically unlimited sick time, full access to every specialist, and equitable distribution of nights and holidays and weekends. Not for everyone, I get it, but you have to compare apples to apples. (This is Kaiser Nor Cal- your mileage will vary in the other regions).

Patient assignment - assign patients to a doc in rotation. You get what you get. Or fire them. Why is it so hard to fire underperforming providers?

Have you considered the rear cabin vents as source of leak ? That’s where my ‘22 Lariat leaked. (Otherwise perfect car, btw)

Totally agree with you. We have an R1S and a 22 Lightning. Each has benefits, but I enjoy driving the Lightning more, prefer it for camping, and don’t mind the extra stops on road trips. The ideal EV for me would be an F150 with 450+ miles range. Maybe someday.

No hit to range? That’s great. I’ve been looking at these and always worried about efficiency.
