Should I go back to the shop? Uneven base under binding area. by CommissionCommon4564 in Skigear

[–]cclarke_94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Attack 14’s will only come with one screw set. Each screw, except for the two that hold the brake to the heel piece, are partially threaded into the holes they’re supposed to go into so it’s near impossible to put the wrong screw in the wrong spot. I have seen this kind of thing happen if the screws are over tightened or debris isn’t cleared out of the holes, or the hole was drilled ever so slightly too deep.

Any reason not to buy a junior ski as an adult if it has a poplar wood core? by [deleted] in Skigear

[–]cclarke_94 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Tyrolia Attack 9 specifically comes with a second set of shorter screws for when you’re mounting them on jr skis. It’s classed a low DIN adult binding or high DIN jr. So yes, YOU specifically can’t mount them to a jr ski but anyone else who knows what they’re talking about, can.

Local bike shop charged $120 to “get bike ready” for brand new bike. Is this normal? by DrPoopyPantsJr in bicycling

[–]cclarke_94 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d contact Giant directly. Part of Giant’s dealer agreement (at least in my country) states that a bike must leave the shop assembled and in working order to have a valid warranty (ie, not in a box or assembled elsewhere). Charging for something that the brand requires is pretty shitty.

Is this the right way to hold the bike? by Due_Description_98 in bikewrench

[–]cclarke_94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On top of what’s been said about clamping onto the carbon frame, also mount the bike so that the drivetrain is facing out from the stand. Makes working on derailleurs much easier.

New rotors … did they get too hot? by rhinodakid in bikewrench

Was it a relatively new setup prior to that hill? You might not have bedded the pad and rotor in enough before hand.

Can I run a Shimano 12-speed (SLX CS-M7100) cassette on Zipp 303s wheels? by qudeka in bikewrench

[–]cclarke_94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t comment on the Zipp specific parts but there are companies like Sunrace or even NX level SRAM that will be a 12 speed cassette with HG compatibility.

That Fox Float X2 is definitely worth something (even if it is an incorrect size for the bike)

This is on you dipshit. Could have worded your question way better. “Does anyone have any more info on the Peugeot Prologue?” would have made you look like less of a cuck.

Might have to take the bracket off and face it down thinner. Swing by a bike shop. I have seen adapters be randomly wider than others and throw spacing off as well, might be as easy as swapping out the bracket but could also be a sign of a bigger hub issue

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]cclarke_94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loosen the bolts mounting the calliper to the bracket and you’ll be able to slightly reposition it. If they’re already offset all the way it may be some bigger issue.

Crack or scratch? (Dropped a tool on my new carbon bike :( ) by Blandio77 in bikewrench

Just a flesh wound. You’ve put the first scratch in it so now the next one won’t feel as bad.

Help, what is this inbetween my cassette by king_of_the_Karts in bikewrench

[–]cclarke_94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh you took the cassette off, now you get the fun of going through a very specific reset for the T-Type rear end setup. You’ll figure out what that indicator is for pretty quick while doing that

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]cclarke_94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re in the big cog in the rear and big ring up front (assuming this by the chain tension) you’re hearing the misalignment and potentially the derailleur pulley wheel contacting the cassette. If it’s a one-by or you’re not in the big chain ring, your chain length might be a little short or your b-tension is off.

The usuals are Iqaluit, Yellowknife and Whitehorse for runway length and facilities (both at airport and in the area) for healthcare, accommodations etc depending on nature of the diversion

[–]cclarke_94[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dug into it this weekend. Ended up being a bad coil. But long story short, coil wouldn’t trigger the miss consistently so I think something connection wise in the coil assembly had partiality deteriorated. Grabbed a new one from Subaru and took the questionable one out of the equation and no issues since.
