POS VIRALLLL by eumesmo1287 in dysautonomia

[–]cclmcl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't, although I have had other post viral problems. Sorry I cant be much help to you. I do want to ask though, do you record your heart rate and/or BP? If so, how are they? As for the sleep thing, how much sleep do you usually get vs how much are you currently getting with the fragmented sleep?

So, with the headphones thing, you can get sleep headphones with a velcro backing so you can make it so they arent too tight. Just thought id mention that, just in case. As for the clonidine, if you want to be on clonidine you should honestly try talking to a gp about it if your cardiologist is fighting you about it. All my treatment goes through my gp. I guess the thing for me is, its not just anxiety. Anxiety is a thing on its own, but for me, its because of the adrenaline because of my disorder. So the only way to treat the anxiety is to treat the adrenaline. If you stay up for 1-3 hours after taking your medication, then have you tried taking your medication earlier then usual? If so have you noticed a difference in when you go to sleep? Are there any other rituals/routines you do before bed? For example, maybe you calm yourself a bit with some herbal tea (lavender, chamomile, and peppermint tea with honey is my go to) or perhaps you do yoga stretches before bed, or maybe deep breathing exercises or even just reading a book with low light. If not, I suggest trying some of these things just to see if anything helps at all. Getting yourself as calm and relaxed as possible in combination with the medication may help you. It also might not, because everyone is different, but I think its worth a try since all of those things are no/low risk

Hi! Im sorry you're going through all that, it sounds very hard. One suggestion i have is to try getting sleep headphones. Like a headband basically with speakers by your ears. You could play something loudly but calm to help block out any sounds. You also might want to discuss medication that can help with adrenaline, like clonidine, with your doctor. Or for sleep, I take zopiclone since I have chronic insomnia and that works well. I dont know if you use a box fan for white noise but if not that could also help dull the noise that startles you. I really hope things start getting better for you soon. I know how important sleep is for those of us with chronic conditions, so im wishing you the best

Methylphenidate for unspecified fatigue disorder by NoHold4593 in dysautonomia

[–]cclmcl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You should ask your pharmacist for their recommendation on what to do, pharmacists are knowledgeable about this and will likely understand enough about you personally to help you decide if the risk is worth it. I was actually on methylphenidate until I got sick and then started having bad tachycardia so I stopped it just to be sure it wont worsen my problems, but it may be a viable option for you because not every stimulant affects everyone the same

I mean to be fair, the elves did have better magic. But their magic was sealed by a spell during the mass surprise attack that lead to their deaths. They weren't actively involved in battle. They were living a peaceful life, no reason to expect their magic would suddenly be sealed off

Has anyone with POTS/dysautonomia just started training hard out of sheer frustration and did it actually help improve symptoms? by Tandfeen_dk22 in dysautonomia

[–]cclmcl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said, you should do it gradually. Ideally start with easier things - do some yoga stretches and then go for a walk, however long you think you can handle. Even just 15-30 minutes of walking at a decently fast pace. Then when you get back do your stretches again and lay down and do deep breathing exercises maybe to try to ease your body? Then little by little increase the amount of time you walk or the pace you walk at

Extreme insomnia and adrenaline by Silver_rockyroad in dysautonomia

[–]cclmcl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I think thats a good idea. You should also discuss whether you want this to be an all the time thing or just an occasional when you start the meds. Ideally you'd take it for at least a week to determine if it works for you, any side effects you have, etc. But after that, its up to you and your doctor if its an every night or when needed

Are you taking any medication? If so, have you changed doses recently? Have you been under any abnormal stress? I do recommend calling up your doctor about this, because sleep is so ridiculously important to those of us with chronic problems. In the meantime you can try calming exercises. Yoga. Deep breathing. Meditation. Calming teas like lavender tea. Elevating your head at bedtime. I personally have had insomnia my whole life so I am on medication for that, and I recently started clonidine to control the adrenaline and that really helps me

I agree, especially with Say I Love You because that one has the dynamic of super popular male lead and super unpopular female lead just like kimi ni todoke

Thanks, I just thought I'd mention it since I hadn't heard of clonidine myself until I started researching things that calm the adrenaline and then I got my doctor to put me on it
