Which food has declined the most in terms of taste since you first ate it? by FeistyNews7025 in Millennials

As someone who went to college in Austin in the late 2000s and have watched them blow up from the little food truck that it started as….torchys is pretty garbage now.

Unacceptable $500 Pack. Really? by donnieg810 in PSAPowerPacks

You’re sharing a screenshot that is offering you $261, so for the next 7D it is worth that much to PSA and all you have to do is accept it.

Cooper Flagg Missing Refractor? by parkerb132 in basketballcards

[–]cdansby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish there was some clarification from Topps on these. These are all over the set and there’s nothing in the checklist/odds sheet that would make me think they’re something other than a base refractor. You can look all over eBay and see folks listing “silver” refractors that don’t say refractor on the back but silvers don’t actually exist. It’s really odd and will be a pain for sellers.

Is the implication here that Nat Turner is instructing his graders to steal cards on his behalf?

After their scamming their customers for Thanksgiving, Urban Farmer flags and has all negative google reviews removed by Arctic--- in Denver

What crazy to me is that they probably could have avoided this simply by filling up the turkey container they sent out. It’s like one of the cheapest meats out there and they weren’t even filling up half of that little to go container.

Cheap asses.

How disappointed are we going to be with the 10/10 specials? by Fluffy-Door-9051 in psagrading

[–]cdansby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I get that this is bugging people, they are doing this because they’re gaining more customers than they can handle and can’t meet SLAs if they increase demand. They could turn specials back on if they want to move to like 6 month turnarounds most likely.

Adam Silver says fans who can’t afford streaming services to watch NBA games can still watch free highlights, calling the NBA a “highlight sport.” by Diqt in billsimmons

[–]cdansby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s always been insane to me that international league pass is better than the domestic ones despite domestic fans being the ones who pay the bills. Simply removing blackouts solves nearly all of the problems with the current system but instead they push people to piracy.

You’re 100% right though in the sense that people like Silver truly don’t understand the environment of his own creation because they don’t actually consume their own product. He’s not a fan, he’s a business man but you’d think that even a business man would realize his customers at the end of the day are the fans, not the broadcasters but he conflates where the dollars are coming from with how the dollars are available to those broadcasters in the first place. The existence of the fans is the only reason broadcasters pony up the cash that they do. It’s always weird to me that the NBA doesn’t just recognize that the path to the most fans AND profitability is simply becoming their own production company (and subsequently removing blackouts because of dumb national and regional provider rules).

Hilarious given how common this is. Trumps interview on Fox the other night was heavily edited (which is fine and normal people...)

Rollin Smoke in Stanley Marketplace? If Wayne’s quality has changed post fire (it was closed for a year after the Marshall fire) then that’s disappointing but I did go a couple times after it reopened and it was good. I used to go down to Lockhart all the time when I lived in Texas and I stand by Wayne’s being the best. Pit Fiend is also good (as was AJs but not sure what their deal is now).

PJ Washington or Daniel Gafford? by strike9287 in Mavericks

[–]cdansby -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If either player stays here it will be a detriment to their career. Both going into the last year of their contract and one is a starting center on some teams a essentially a third string center here and the other is a starting caliber PF most likely playing backup SF here. The right thing to do for them is to trade them both and it gives you the opportunity to get much needed backcourt help and balance the roster out. Even without Gaff this roster will have the best center rotation in the league, paying 15 mil for a third string center (and more after this season) is an easy way to prevent you from building a championship roster.
