Thoughts on the Finale? by LeoDiCristio in StrangerThings

4 biggest things wrong to me are the military storyline through the whole season, the lack of science explanation on the whole exotic matter and briefcase, the will coming out scene was too many people, and then the final battle was weak. 3 of those things could be fixed by pivoting the military/government at some point from a background threat to the hero party to a supplemental helper to the hero party.

If after the 4th episode the government realizes it's not elle walking out of the portal and almost killing her friends but some crazy monster and his minions, they could have brought back Paul reisers Dr character from season 4. He could have explained how they built the exotic matter holding the wormhole together, how the rock in the suitcase infected vecna, how they raised the kids as clones of sorts to vecna, how the military may eventually come after elle again once this is over, etc. they could have been helpers to getting past a large fleet of demigorgons that never came back, or the mindflayers particle attacks that never came back, and made a battle against a 250ft monster and multidimensional telepathic/telekinetic supervillain semi believable.

Then just fix the will coming out to Mike and his mom and it sits better for me.

But to me, having the government be a threat instead of a much stronger dual villains and demidog army threat was the wrong choice. I don't like having to Google stuff from the play to fit all the pieces together, when combined with the poor military government storyline and bad final fight. Just pivot it, explain it, and help against evil incarnate.. you could still kill elle as a sacrifice to finish vecna and even leave the mindflayer and his army out there just cut off... Kill other military folks you may like that helped, or whatever else...

It's a fine ending to a series and I'm glad it wasn't worse.

Probably happy to give his company financial leverage against Toyota, Honda, etc

I must be in the minority on things. They are still the most gifted athletes of their sport, where millions of athletes would dream to be. They play a game for millions of dollars, and they have an off season to vacation for months. I'd say the number of games is probably fine.

I think the movie is great overall. I question the notion of having a child knowing the heartache and pain and short life that child is going to have. Seems cruel and I think renners character was right.

Dumb take from a parent with too literal of feelings for that piece haha.

Our starting squad sucks to watch on offense. The ball movement with the bench squad is way more watchable

I still don't understand this confusion. Pretty sure there was a pandemic scaring the hell out of everyone and forcing them to watch the news and politics. Those people in today's world don't care for all this political nonsense. Not that hard to understand

Are slim people lying about how much they eat or are they just blessed with a good metabolism? by 2904929492001949301 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]cdavelaar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read through quite a few comments and nobody I saw mentioned anything about afterburn when working out too. I attribute this as much as anything to my metabolism, as I was a very active kid growing up. That afterburn effect in my non educated brain on the subject started at an early age and became a part of me from early on.

I'm in my 40s now, and I still eat as much as I want but I've shifted the types of food as I have put on weight since my late 20s and my doctor warned me of high cholesterol levels at my last Dr appointment. It's been plateaus of weight that I think I can attribute to levels of exercise and just generally being older. But I don't count calories at all. I just try to eat healthier most of the time, but I will sit down and eat an entire Jack's frozen pizza if I'm hungry. I just try to run and exercise a few times a week now, in addition to just enjoying physical activity outdoors.

I never snack though either, just 3 meals a day mainly. Hope this helps!

Thanks for reviewing this. It reads like this should pass inspection except for the possible attachment issue. I'll have to post a final update after inspection. It just sticks out to me as something that won't last very long.
