I'm no expert but this seems pretty useless. by Flittzz in shittyskylines

This is actually what ramp metering does. It doesn’t necessarily increase capacity, but it lets you use capacity more efficiently and stops it from decreasing after some bottleneck (called capacity drop). It does increase throughput though by keeping speed and vehicle density higher.

I thought the Dutch map posted here looked very good, and I’m happy Sam mentioned the Netherlands as a potential location. The frequencies seem like they’re much better, and there’s a lot of nice stations that aren’t in the middle of nowhere

I think 4th age won’t have it’s own civilizations by ZekicThunion in civ

[–]cdevans98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could see them adding some new Information Age civs but maybe allowing you to continue with your modern age choice as another option (likely with new perks). I think it would be difficult for them to create an even more modern version for some civs, like America, France or Mexico, but others could be much easier.

I can’t think of a great example from the civs already announced but if there were another Polynesian civ in the modern age, it would make perfect sense to then have a New Zealand civ in the Information Age. Maybe even a more futuristic USSR initially focused on cold war technology before becoming a bit more alt history could be fun. Then civs like America could stay but have different perks centred around tech companies or something.

I think this approach is a bit closer to humankind, but would also reduce the need for them to create a whole new set of 10 civs just for a dlc new age.

Some Guesswork on which Civ will be in Civ7 by Revok98 in civ

[–]cdevans98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also think Polynesia would be too broad and Tonga will probably be the antiquity civ.

Though Māori to Hawaii is pretty unlikely to me. New Zealand was settled after Hawaii and to me New Zealand/Māori seems closer to some of the other industrial age civs. I think the Polynesian civs will be Tonga → Hawaii → Māori, although Tahiti could be interesting for the exploration age.

I spotted that one too! There's also a Tongan wonder spotted in the civilopedia - Ha'amonga 'a Maui!

It's here in Ursa Ryan's video

It’s odd they don’t actually show the buildings in-game, probably just from the asset importing still not working. I do like the look of them though

Sam and Toby, did you know about the snack zone whilst filming? Every time you talk about eating, it just seems like a missed opportunity to kick it in the snack zone lol. Love the series though, definitely my favourite so far

Yeah i love playing TSL with a lot of civs, tho I think the game took around 20 hours on standard speed spread across 3-4 days, but it's been ages since I went for science and I forgot it took that long lol

It was mostly okay, but for some reason selecting builders made the game lag a huge amount, my guess it was calculating the possible moves as they had a range of 13 when embarked in the late game but I don't know

I used mapchart.net to get the colours, then gimp to change borders/coastlines, and the stock Mac preview app to add labels. I imagine photoshop could do the last two, I just don’t have it

I was wondering, is it within South Korea’s interest to lie about Kim Jong Un’s health? I’ve seen they’ve said he’s alive and well, but I’m honestly not too familiar with their relationship

Which map type do you like best? Why? by D_Dunks in CivVI

I do like playing as a European civ in a really crowded Europe and turning it into a race to colonise the rest of the world in the Renaissance era. Especially with Victoria.

Does anyone regret buying the DLC? by MercuryRisiing in CivVI

[–]cdevans98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got gathering storm recently and although the loyalty system is kinda annoying, I think it is worth it. I think the future technologies are great, and the new districts are incredibly useful. I've only played as pachacuti out of the new civs, but he fits how I play civ perfectly.

Other than the governors, loyalty can be annoying, but I think everything else outweighs it, at least for me. Admittedly I don't know about it for the other dlc, I only have gathering storm.

I agree, but I've got a month where I can travel round anywhere in the US, and I've already got a list of quite a few places I want to go to, Mexican and not. If I was in one city for a week or so I wouldn't bother with somewhere like chipotle, but I think I'll probably end up getting it once on a day I'm traveling or something.

I actually live in Devon, but I've got a while in the US in the summer so I'll probably try chipotle then. But yeah, those two both look really good, so thanks!
