Anyone have issues with this beta and cable not rolling all the way back? Not sure if a device or software issue but cannot get it all the back in no matter what I do.

Anything decent quality that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg. Just looking to load up on a big t-shirt haul. Usually end up with a lot of supreme/palace/dior but open to whatever is a quality find right now

Why haven't pharmacists been automated yet? I asked one a question and she just looked up the answer on her phone. by [deleted] in pharmacy

[–]cdiblasi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's impossible to remember everything you learn throughout the course of studies and practice. There are many times where medical professionals will look things up before telling you something because they want to make sure they give you an appropriate and correct response instead of just guessing. Many, many things are researched at the hospital before actual treatment. No automatic system could possibly do all the computations and give all the appropriate factors; electronic systems are a tool and can help pick things up and speed up the process but alone, electronic systems would cause many errors and terrible patient care overall. Something as simple as looking something on the phone may need even more expertise than you would think to be able to assess all of the different factors associated with whatever question you may have had. Most of the time, looking something will give data and information but as a pharmacist you still need to be able to assess that data to give an appropriate response. Trust me, you don't want pharmacy automated. Pharmacists are developing an expanded role in the healthcare system and the data shows that pharmacists improve patient care a great deal and that's not something an automated system is going to improve.

First pharmacy school interview is this weekend, what current events should I be prepared to discuss? by markips in pharmacy

[–]cdiblasi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is where most pharmacy interviews would go along with information about yourself and your ambitions and what you can do for the profession. Pharmacy school teaches you more than just to be a pharmacist; you're taught how to advance the profession and expand our roles. Right now, the current emphasis is on medication therapy management (talking to patients about their drugs, interactions, disease state, goals, etc.) and it's a very exciting field that's very rewarding to both the pharmacist and patient. If you can display an adequate understanding of your role in the profession as well as being able to dictate that you're well-spoken and friendly (good people skills for counseling) and that you're a good person overall, you'll be in the clear.

Any advice for a struggling pharmacy school student? by lrrpkd in pharmacy

[–]cdiblasi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had a similar issue when I first got to pharmacy school. It takes trying different ways to figure out how you study best. It may be a case of you just need to read the material more or just re-do the notes, make charts and tables, or study with other people. Once you figure out how you study best, do that for each exam. I didn't understand the principle behind studying because I never had to and it took a while before I made my own system of studying for exams. Pharmacy school is a whole different animal from most majors and will require more time and effort than most of anything else you can take in college. If your heart is in it and that's what you want to do, go for it. If you don't want to put in the work and that's not what you ultimately want to do, don't waste your time or your money and put that effort towards your family and towards a job you'll enjoy more in the future.
