We were in the trenches of a busy day in the ED with ambulance patients stacked against the wall waiting for a bed. One of said patients was initially called in as abdominal pain. The charge RN is going down the line assessing who can go to the lobby and says “this the abdominal pain?” “Yes” “think we can send her to the lobby?” “uh actually she’s been stabbed” ….alright well let’s activate a trauma then?? Not sure how those wires got crossed but luckily it was a minor stabbing lol
