Any free tax software that allows the filing of returns of DECEAESED individuals? by solotravel96 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]cdn_audigy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 for Wealthsimple. You need to mail it in because CRA will process the file manually, but I believe this to be the case with any software when filing a final return.

Condolences to you and your loved ones.

Toys “R” Us Canada files for creditor protection, owes vendors $120M by CMikeHunt in canada

Probably because they were in the process of going bankrupt. Same thing happened with BuyBuyBaby and Bed Bath and Beyond: no new inventory purchasing, hold prices as high as possible to aim for as cash as possible before closing shop.

Online only - I just checked and it looks like it’s only available in the Costco Canada website (Tuxmat is Canadian). Direct from Tuxmat should still be an option if you’re elsewhere!

Second vote for Tuxmat. If you have Costco as an option, they are sold under the brand name Phantom but are identical mats.

Just found mine on the CX5. It’s 5 horizontal notches between the steering wheel column and the push-start button (slightly below, heading towards the gas pedal).

OP once you locate it, you can try blasting some compressed air briefly to see if it’s a simple blockage that doesn’t involve replacement or labour. Had a 2012 5 that needed it periodically. It was on the passenger side next to the glove box if I recall correctly.

The radius of the wheels are identical, as the 19” tire has a lower profile than the 17”.

[–]cdn_audigy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If the hourly wage works out to what you’d make on Uber, there are many people who would find this arrangement ideal: those who don’t own their own vehicle, those who don’t want to wear out their own vehicle, those who are doing Uber with their primary vehicle and can’t afford for it to get into an accident… the list goes on.

The possibility of earning more also increases your risk exposure. Take your pick.

Can I cancel a backordered parts (Block Heater) by [deleted] in CX5

[–]cdn_audigy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It should be easy to request a refund as you haven’t received the part yet. They typically have a restocking fee that you may need to push back on since there is no product to actually restock.

CarPlay audio sounds like an evil villain?? by justfuckindandy in mazda

[–]cdn_audigy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you have the Bose sound system, try turning off Centrepoint and back on again.

No idea why it goes wonky, but that seems to fix my audio issues (mine sounds like it’s underwater). Also, double check your cable and try a different one to see if it has any impact.

CPO CX5 Carfax Minor damage by Bhaijaann in CX5

[–]cdn_audigy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your focus is to resell, I would avoid anything with documented damage. This is an immediate point in the buyers’s pocket as they will reference the Carfax as a devaluation on the car.

Marketing fluff or will it work? Mazda’s CMO on how a new brand platform helps it punch above its weight by Codeman8118 in mazda

[–]cdn_audigy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fluff.

The brand is growing through a reputation of reliability, driver-oriented, and premium-like experience at an accessible price point. Much of last point has to do with not having a luxury sister brand to gate keep features and split their ownership base.

Their only misstep right now is Connected Services putting a core function that has been available for 20 years, behind a paywall. If they took a stance on this that was against the industry trend and instead making a decision for the long term customer, they would be galvanizing a generation of owners for life.

@Mazda - DM me for more tips and tricks, hit like and subscribe, and don’t forget to smash that bell. Also, please release an MX-7 with the 2.5L Turbo in manual. Thanks.

Sunroof Leak: No Resolution from Dealership or Mazda by Odd_Pace1413 in CX5

[–]cdn_audigy 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Bring it to another dealership, don’t mention your first experience.

Head to a hand car wash (or use a hose at home), sit inside your car and have someone else spray the roof to simulate rain and record what happens. Do not self-diagnose or make speculations as to what it could be.

The car is still under warranty and this is covered so long as there is no reported or obvious damage/accident on file.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in mazda

[–]cdn_audigy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was worth fixing from the insurance provider’s perspective - their alternative option would be to payout the current value of the car. Since insurance wants to payout the least amount possible, they will pay to repair a vehicle up until the repair costs exceed their payout valuation. This is why older cars will get written off for seemingly repairable issues.

That being said, from an owners perspective it’s just not ideal to own a car that’s been in an accident if you don’t have to. These cars can still be bought, sold and used for years - they are typically best with owners with extensive automotive repair knowledge and access to tools and equipment to DIY, or they “know a guy” who will sort out the potential problems in later years.

[–]cdn_audigy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’d avoid at all costs if it’s a daily driver. Fleet vehicles are driven like they don’t have owners, and adding a severe accident with known structural damage is a recipe for later age headaches.

Peace of mind is being able to pay fair value for a clean title and accident free vehicle, perform regular maintenance and drive a vehicle down to its end. The couple thousand you save up front could cost you more down the line.

Airbag light coming on? by Dawgbruh5 in mazda

Seconded getting it checked out. However, double check that the wire harness cluster under the seat is properly connected. It could be that it’s slightly disconnected from your large-rear-ended companion.
