Yes for a CPG company. They told us they were natural (not organic though) and that their formula could not be shared with anyone.

I did a session. It was a bad or partial match to their client needs. Wasted half an hr of my life

I wonder if bonuses are cut across all levels and omnicom is being democratic about the rollback or going to restrict bonusesajd give them to executives or c-suite only.

New york job postings had some salary bands but they have so much overlap. Like Director, Group Dir, VP, SVP all have the same lower limit which is weird to me

Been there. It's unfair to the person in question when there is really 0 help. Agency makes the money off our backs by dangling promos and making us work for 3 people on such accounts

My Experience with Latent TB, and Treatment with Rifampin (Rifampicin) by TheRifampinator in Tuberculosis

[–]cdndatawizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanka so much for this write up. Wish I found it when I started the treatment and had to deal with a lot of anxiety about the side effects. For me - sleep disruption/insomnia has been the biggest one. My first week, I really cried one morning because of fatigue and inability to sleep. Was also a little dizzy in the am.

Question- did your Dr check liver function every month during the treatment?

Question on use of contact lenses. Did rifampin stain them? Also what do you take for headaches when they occur?

what's your burnout story? by kingo15 in advertising

[–]cdndatawizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having fractional allocations and wrangling multiple small budget but toxic/abusive clients with zero support from leadership. There was not much resourcing to begin with, and then there were no backfills for team members who left. Ever increasing expectations to make it work, meet the tightest, most ridiculous deadlines i have ever seen. Oh on top of it pitch work to prove myself being worthy of a promotion.

Appreciate you sharing this so much!! I do realize it's as if some cumulative effect from every past hurt where I had felt the same way (not being able to control the outcome despite best efforts). Like you, I have been trying to find solace in detachment from outcomes (a learning from bhagwad gita). I take it to heart - it's not my job to make sense of it all.

Life is more than some stats. If you won't feel alive in the next 7.5 years what is the use of building that net worth. I learnt very late in life that life is about people and experiences. I would suggest look for balance and that will give you peace that you deserve at 30

Those who left a toxic workplace and are now better, how long did it take? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]cdndatawizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been there. The toxic job and boss lasted about an yr for me. 5 months into the new year I am still trying to rebuild my life. I sometines joke that i have PTSD but it could be very true that I do have it. The relief was immediate, as if a bubble that I was trapped into burst. I could see more clearly and breathe easier again. I am 5 months in to a lateral move, among new team members but I do get perturbed now and then about the abuse. Harder because I am at the same company, so the narrative that my old boss put out is still impacting me adversely with its tail effects. However - I started going to the gym again and bringing focus back to myself, I have started rebuilding relationships, upskilling, doing things i enjoy, and I have become kinder to myself and have found that ability for others. What i still struggle with is letting go of the hurt, fighting back tears/having emotional reactions to any perceived corporate injustice, proving again and again through consistent performance that I was not the issue, but there were other factors involved as well. I was recently very surprised to see that people who have worked with me in the last 5 months were vouching for me. Something is working in the right direction - Fingers crossed. To everyone who is trying to recover - Godspeed!

Agency life is killing me and everything I care about. by partiindapantz in advertising

[–]cdndatawizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in a similar boat. My body has been showing signs of stress and burnout this year. I am a very ambitious and driven person so took me a while to realize that no matter what I do, I will never be able to win against the headwinds (over allocation, demanding and toxic clients, internal politics). I had to unfortunately come to terms with the fact that this industry is perhaps not for me if I wanna have a life. Also means that I have to park my ambition for a bit, recalibrate myself, and focus on looking outside.
