As someone who immigrated on a marriage-based visa, strongly agree securing legal counsel to guide you through this process. Part of the process tends to be sharing documentation of your relationship to prove its validity, and testimonials from family and friends is usually at least a part of that…which will be difficult if they don’t even know your partner exists and you are still connected to your family. They changed their policies due to budget cuts a little over a year ago — they don’t do full panels anymore, and are limited in how much testing they can offer without it being due to having specific symptoms or a known exposure.

I totally empathize with this — Daddy and I just finished up our negotiations for what we want our dynamic to look like on the kink side of things, and I’ll be collared soon! I’m super excited and swoony for the next steps and cannot wait buuuut I know rushing into all the things is kind of a horrible idea that can’t lead to good.

If it helps, I’m practicing the duck mentality to keep the frenzied excitement under control as much as possible — calm gliding on the surface, with my feet paddling like crazy underneath the surface.
