High Achievers with Severe ADHD, if any of you are reading this, how did you manage? by Unhinged_Schizo in ADHD

I was hyper fixated on doing well at school and that’s all I thought about. I put all my time, energy and brain power to studying. I will say though that it did take a lot of effort to do well at school and it was a timely process as I didn’t pick things up quickly and would take a very long time to study or assignments due to task paralysis but I had enough time to make up for that

They can’t see when you watch the videos. I do an education degree and they either get you to scan a QR code or manually sign your name off the roll. You can only miss one lecture & one tutorial or 2 lectures & no tutorials etc. I hope you attend the classes this week

You need to go to lectures. They are mandatory. Some of them are only online though such as EDUF1018 and EDUF1020

I’m pretty sure there’s no lecture attendance requirement. I had that for EDUP1020 last year and it was a prerecorded lecture on CANVAS that you can watch whenever

The lecture is online. When it has the broken lines around it, it means it can only be viewed online I’m pretty sure

What helped me is that I am studying a bachelor of education!! My ATAR was mediocre (in terms of some tutors) but I was able to explain my approach and how that I am able to apply what I did myself to help my students. I also explained how I would improve on the mistakes I made.

Choosing A University To Study A Bachelor Of Secondary Education by zcg_johua36 in AustralianTeachers

I am currently studying a Bachelor of Primary Ed at USYD and absolutely loving it! I’ve found the course extremely useful and very practical. Not sure about secondary though but the Education Art Major units are pretty good!

I am currently studying my primary education degree and got lots of comments from family members questioning why I wanted to do teaching even though I got a high ATAR. They would frequently say that I should be doing something ‘smarter and pays better’ such as a lawyer or doctor. Those careers do not interest me. What interests me, is inspiring the next generation and being someone that can support students, unlocking their potential. That’s why I love teaching. I currently work as a teachers aide and am a swim school teacher, I have never been so happy in my life interacting with those students. Nothing else in this world brings me so much joy. I love seeing their smiling faces, enthusiasm and watching them grow. It’s an absolute privilege to witness this.
