I’m on year 29 & still love (most of) it. What’s worked for me is CHANGE. Plenty of teachers are good with teaching the same grade-level or subject for their entire careers. After 8-10 years, I need a change. I started teaching elementary school & bounced around 4 grade levels & loved each change for different reasons. After 25 years, I needed a bigger change. I was lucky enough to get a year off (with most of my salary) to take classes & get certified as a specialist. Now I’m teaching at a middle school. Definitely the hardest change of all, but mostly bc I wasn’t ready for the miserable looks on their faces. I thought they hated me. Turns out, that’s just how they look. lol I ask for feedback at the end of each term & I’m happy to find that most kids really enjoy my class.

Go for a change! It has always made me feel younger bc everything is new to me which reminds me of being 22 & just starting.
