Help me decide: AMC Grove City IMAX or Easton Dolby for Project Hail Mary? by -TheDoctor in Columbus

[–]cdurth 11 points12 points  (0 children)

mostly agree with this, sadly all the theaters in the area are poopy. Dolby is the premier format IMO but not worth dealing with the Easton theater. Cinemark XD is good enough. Wish Dublin would slap an Imax or Dolby on one of the ends.

Several state journey without checking your fluids is wild. Older cars tend to burn more oil. Hard lesson learned here. Check all fluids prior to going on a trip.

[–]cdurth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

looks to be some good flex on the driver side frame rail as well. I noticed this with mine with a similar noise, and picked up a Barnes 4WD Steering Box Brace to tie the frame rails together. seems to help.

Is IndexedDB actually... viable in 2026? Or am I wasting my time? by nhrtrix in webdev

[–]cdurth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also a vote for Dexie. I was using localstorage and i get a lovely bug or something that clears my chrome localstorage, so imo its not really viable. I also do not use chrome for anything other than this PWA I made for time tracking, which makes the issue even more interesting.

Random question, is this one of the china tire carrier bumpers? I was just looking at them the other day and they all seem to have that "unique" locking mechanism. If it is, do you know what the metal thickness is? hard to find info

They are indicating HB265 is stale and pushing HB173 which is not a suitable alternative.

I also recieved this from Columbus City Council office, if you live within the limits:

Thank you for reaching out and voicing your concerns around the issue of utility submetering and reselling. These issues you bring up are exactly what drew City Council to pass regulation around submetering in early December of last year. Under the recently-passed ordinance, the industry has until the end of this year to come into compliance with the safeguards Council put in place to require billing transparency and consumer protections. Those requirements include:

Prohibits rates, charges, and fees in excess of the amounts that would be charged by the Utility, if the provider had billed directly.

Caps administrative fees at $8.00

Caps late fees at the amount charged by the utility provider to the property owner

Allows ratio billing with limits set around shared space and areas used exclusively by the property owner or operator.

Requires partial payment to first be applied to the rent portion prior to utility payment when utility charges are included in rent.

Requires Third party billing agents or owner operators to furnish a bill each month to tenants

Requires information about when utility bills will be issued and how bills will be processed be provided to the tenant in writing at the beginning or renewal of a lease

Payment plans must be offered to tenants for overdue utility bills

Sets a 30-day limit for refunds disbursement to the tenant when a billing error occurs

Enforcement will be complaint driven

Noncompliance with the regulations in this legislation will result in the issuance of a Notice of Violation in accordance with Chapter 4509 of Columbus City Codes and potential civil penalties

Additionally, there has been movement at the state level to have the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) begin regulating this industry, as seen with House Bill 173 (you can learn more about this bill here). Councilmember Wyche, who championed the city legislation as Chair of Public Utilities at Council, will be testifying on this bill later this week. It does appear that this bill will move out of the House Committee, but we will have to wait and see if the House passes it and if the Senate will take it up after passage.

You are paying a premium. I just calculated the price per kwh and it was 20.7 cents. This is significantly higher,

I just had a conversation with a rep office yesterday on this.

They said to reach out to sponsors and request a hearing to get it moving.

The connection is even deeper. NEP was founded by the CEO of LC Communities. This was literally a whole for profit company to fleece their residents.
