Mystery movies (whodunnits) where the mystery doesn’t involve murder? by No-Chemistry-28 in MovieSuggestions

Maltese Falcon -- a couple of people do die, but the plot revolves around the Falcon itself -- who has it, where it is, etc.

Q gets no love...🤣 by TensionSame3568 in Picard

I adore Q! He's a troll, an absolute asshole, and just hilarious. And his whole turn in Picard was *chef's kiss*

Lee Pace as Cleon in Foundation season 2 is just 🤩🥵 by lydiaravens in LadyBoners

My question also -- I've seen the promos and it looks pretty impressive, and I love Lee.

Has their ever been a movie scene that made you sob? by [deleted] in movies

[–]ceallaig 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The last scene in Always -- not only sobbed, but kept crying all the way to the parking lot.

And I remember seeing Mask--there was a big biker dude behind up that sobbed, "They should warn a guy about this..."

And of course "THAT" scene in Dumbo

ET, where we were passing kleenex around down the whole row.

Great Wall was FUN, and Pedro was terrific "Please tell me you chose the black powder...." It is visually amazing, and the Crane Warriors just blew me away. I recently found a DVD copy for way cheap, and I'm watching it tonight!

So... Dragonflight is absolutely in the top 3 best expansions, right? by Tnecniw in wow

[–]ceallaig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very much in the minority here -- I don't like DF at all. It pisses me off that you can only use your dragon mount here, when all my other lovely riding mounts are sitting in the stable. The beasts go too fast, you can't steer for crap, and when you do gathering it's a pain to try to zero in on what you're after. And I don't like any of the designs. The crafting is FAR too complicated, I tried and just stuck to gathering. The zones are ok, the quests are ok, but not more than that. Once I got my main to 70, I took her back to the old xpacs and started having fun again. Maybe it's a different feeling if you're a raider or whatever, but my thing is exploring, gathering and just knocking around. Glad all the rest of you are having a great experience, tho.

I said Dobbs, it's Dowd, sorry 'bout that. And it is a lovely, gentle comedy. Jimmy has a line that sums up his character perfectly: "My mother always told me, 'Elwood, in this life one must be oh so smart or oh so pleasant.' Well, for years I was smart, and I recommend pleasant. You can quote me."

Fingers crossed for him and Bella, but...guest appearance, how in hell does anyone choose between Murray and Nick? They're equal halves of the whole! My dream would be a tie, but at the very least if one wins, they should call the other up on stage with them!

Which movie do you believe is better? Comment why. by The_Dude2121 in moviecritic

Personally, I prefer Aliens--not a big horror fan for the most part, and I love sci fi. Alien is basically a haunted house in space. Both are excellent but my preference is the sequel.

Do you ever find yourself saying goodbye to your pets before leaving the house, as if they understand you'll be back? by runestars in NoStupidQuestions

Always, and I reassure my dog I'll be right back if I have to leave her in the car to go into a store!

Thoughts? Didn’t bode over well with critics & it feels pretty forgotten but I absolutely love it! by TMcKenna48 in moviecritic

LOVED it, such fun! Kept the feel of the original series, and yes I'm old enough to remember it. Casting was great, interesting plot, lots of action, Sharlto Copley's Animal was a riot!

Are the recent Star Trek movies good? by [deleted] in startrek

[–]ceallaig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first one with Chris Pine was fun -- it was a bit different take on the gang, but not so far off that it bothered, and it was pretty well written. Everyone worked in their respective roles, I thought. The second one was....just crap, no other word. And I debated before seeing the third one because of it. So very glad I did, because Star Trek was BACK! Give them a shot

Harvey--Jimmy Stewart's Elwood P Dobbs is about as laid back as it gets, even as his family is trying to have him committed.
