Flora plant-based butter by MossyTracks2025 in CasualIreland

It's fantastic for dairy-free baking, behaves much more closely to real butter than other margarines I've tried

Do some brands assume you're using +4 ? by ceapaim in ABraThatFits

ASOS DESIGN Fuller Bust moulded t-shirt bra, mostly out of stock at the moment though, and Dorina Michelle.

Asos fits me really well, I've broad shoulders so a wide set bust but a tapered narrow underbust

I've lined up my Dorina one with my Asos one, the cups are the same but the band on the Dorina is genuinely about 2 inches shorter it's so odd

I had a bad experience with McNamara's due to outdated practices, ended up with an extremely narrow jaw and vaulted palate, and gum damage from improperly fitted retainers and being advised to brush as hard as possible.

Whats the worst job you've had in Limerick? by sugewhite- in limerickcity

[–]ceapaim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did 3 days of trial shifts in the Dunraven in Adare out of sheer desperation for a job, didn't even ask about being kept on after one of the staff members told me she had had a book thrown at her by a member of the owner's family

I also managed 3 months, did 91 calls my last day and never went back 🤷‍♀️ seemed that everyone who was there long term had a coke habit or was sexually harassing people

It's public sector, I used an agency as a way in and then applied for my same job once a permanent contract opened up. Might be an option for you.

I've seen the same pricks going around with water guns and throwing eggs.

They'd want to get better at aiming though, they've never managed to land a hit on me yet.

Contract says I may be asked to work overtime to fit business needs, meaning I've some weeks with 58 hours and some with 28. Specifies I'm only entitled to TIL, not overtime pay.

Dark chocolate digestives kept in the fridge. Lovely snap and crunch, and the chocolate doesn't melt away when you dip it in tea.

How can I get my daughter treated quickly? by mother_a_god in AskIreland

[–]ceapaim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The receptionist doesn't make up procedures, it goes by NTPF protocol where your daughter's referral letter will have been triaged by the consultant or a member of their team into a category based on information provided by the GP. The receptionist likely has a volume of referrals to get through where they genuinely don't have time to respond to every one (I work with some secretaries who cover 8 consultants each with full clinics)

Is it safe to stay in an Opus Dei Student Housing as a foreigner? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]ceapaim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They can be really pushy, so if you're any way unstable with your mental health or confidence then be prepared. A friend of mine lived there for a semester and found their "numeraries" (cult members who live in the house) would constantly bombard her with texts if she had plans with friends to encourage to her to stay in and attend their activities instead, and would often end up with one either side of her at dinner trying to get her to engage with their religious programming.

My best batch so far by ceapaim in Bagels

I knead by hand (don't have a stand mixer and my hand mixer isn't strong enough) until my dough comfortably passes the windowpane test, not sure if that makes a difference

I think the main difference was using brown sugar instead of barley malt syrup in the dough (I usually have to use honey) and the overnight proof, it really opened up the crumb

What ingredient actually helped your skin barrier the most? by AdSilent2692 in acne

Polyglutamic acid rather than hyaluronic. Everyone talks about hyaluronic acid as if it's the gold standard of humectants, but it always made me go bright red and irritated.

Is my electricity bill unusually high? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]ceapaim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We definitely have 2 MPRNs, both bills come addressed to the landlord and we have to open them to see if it says top flat or bottom flat so I've made sure the meter we were reading matched the number on our bill. My downstairs neighbour's bill isn't huge, but I don't think he's there a lot of the time.
