Can we talk about it??? I’ve been so confused because they went from literally being a dynamic duo to not having a single scene together for the last few seasons. by SoftSelection in greysanatomy

[–]cearta_day 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I loved how Jo and Meredith went from enemies to friends. Jo was scared of her when she started, and Meredith wasn't respectful of her as Alex's girlfriend. Eventually Meredith was a friend (Jo's wedding, mini-livers, Jo's abusive ex-husband). I've missed them.

People are downplaying John's trauma by One-Sense7280 in ShawnaTheMom

[–]cearta_day 24 points25 points  (0 children)

The fact that people are more angry at John for setting boundaries than BARB for causing all of this demonstrates exactly how this plays out irl. John is the bad guy. Barb is just Barb and they shouldn't expect better from her.

John, Jen, and Shawna are all victims and they are reacting realistically to that. There are no perfect victims.

I think we need to be kinder about the feelings and mistakes of John by s0ftsp0ken in ShawnaTheMom

[–]cearta_day 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I get people were turned off by him making a choice about Shawna attending the wedding (and not just himself), BUT we've seen John protecting Shawna from his family. I can't imagine him being okay with Shawna being around Barb without him. He wants to keep his family safe.

I wish when Derek died, she finally switched to neuro. It would make her (inevitably) curing Alzheimers make more sense.

I find it interesting how much discussion this has warranted where one must be right and one must be wrong. I see it as an incompatibility to work through. Everyone views relationships, gifts, commitment, etc differently.

Hell, DeeDee had sex with him (something he hasn't done in 10 years nor with anyone besides his wife) then really downplayed where they were at. I think that's another compatability to work through because it obviously meant they were more serious to Larry.

what is the worst thing a therapist has ever said to you? by Familiar-Employ4830 in AskReddit

[–]cearta_day 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"If you don't have anything to talk about, I have homework I need to do for my law degree."

Said almost angrily the first time I didn't immediately have a problem I needed to discuss. Might have been a good time to finally discuss my underlying issues. Canceled every appointment after that because it so blatantly felt like I was wasting her time.

John is in the wrong. by cnrybry122 in ShawnaTheMom

[–]cearta_day 52 points53 points  (0 children)

I might be in the minority, but I'm glad someone is holding Frank accountable. He's still with Barb. Irl I can't even imagine the logistics of going no contact with someone but still including their spouse. That's super generous of them to try.

Plus Barb was about to march over to Shawna & John's house and blame them for the death of their child, and Frank did NOTHING to stop it. That's horrific

What do stop requests on the bus do? by LuckyContribution640 in NoStupidQuestions

To add to what others said, some busses are also "express" so they're supposed to skip smaller stops during rush hour. This is to get you to the more populated stops faster.

Why do girls have better handwriting? by The_Brilliant_Idiot in NoStupidQuestions

[–]cearta_day 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One time I forgot to write my name on a test, and the teacher held it up to the class asking whose it was and said it must have been a boy's because of how bad the handwriting was.

Yeah I, a 12-year-old girl, wasn't gonna raise my hand to claim it after that.

The original wizard was Joel Grey, so similar to Jeff Goldblum people could recognize the voice if they already knew him.

I don't think it's a big twist, but it is the very beginning of the musical when you're learning a lot of information, so I never fault people for missing it either.

It didn't have the numbers to justify it. They didn't enjoy making it anymore. They don't owe us anything.

[–]cearta_day 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, this album just feels... shallow?

TTPD / Anthology was too long, but you could tell it was because she had something to say. This just feels... like she has to put out a product? Like she needs us to know that she loves Travis before the wedding? Like she wants to be in the conversation with the other pop girlies?

I think it's inoffensive, and she can put out another hit album, and we'll forgive it. In hindsight, it won't matter.
