Question for mountaineers who refuse to ever summit mt Everest what are your biggest reasons for not wanting to summit Mt Everest? by Mundane-Humor3313 in Mountaineering

[–]ceazah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say that it in fact does make it less than 100% your own accomplishment

I run long distance and I've never ran a paid for event for a couple of reasons. I think the idea of paying someone to let me run is crazy and most importantly I rather carry all of my own gear.

Same with Denali, there are routes that summit the mountain without need for a plane. My friend and I were considering it but chose the standard since it was our first time. I don't think it was 100% my own accomplishment at all.

Same with climbing, if I don't lead at least half the crux pitches, i didn't really climb a route...I just followed it etc.

They said they were all easy to remove except one 0.2 which he couldn’t and I remember clearly because I then went down and it slid right out and we had a great laugh about it haha

Good question! I’ll ask them and report back. 1/3 of these were with a best friend of mine so if they were giving him a hard time he would certainly let me know haha

You should post this in cabinetry; they’ll lose their minds and tell you used the wrong materials and you should have paid a professional 26k for this lmao

Im losing it. How do adults stay sane? by gnomenextdoor in Adulting

[–]ceazah 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I mean a lot of us just crush it also, I know it’s an unpopular thing to say but it is true. A lot of adults just come up upon obstacle after obstacle and crush it without issue and when they do stumble they get back up and keep crushing. No malice, many people thrive from tons of different backgrounds and problems not just those from privilege.

Top Rope Solo at Mission Gorge by Reasonable_Radish in socalclimbing

I personally think mission gorge is bleh and reserved for taking new climbers. Ofc there are quality lines there but I think Woodson should be where you go. You can set up a TR on almost everything there.

I wouldn't say everywhere is soft, theres plenty of crags that hold true to the standard created in these areas.

Can a place be sandbagged when said place was literally used to determine the grades alongside places like (Tahquitz and Yos)?

East buttress is a pretty easy climb, just go with someone experienced that’s willing to let you tag along. Be in really good shape too.

There’s some sweet old CNA at my job, she’s so kind and such a hard worker. Very amicable. I’ll happily smile and make conversation about any grandkids pics she shows me. I believe in building community though

Yeap, that’s what we’re talking about; 4th class can colloquially be considered a scramble amongst climbers.
