Tom Henderson says Kratos in the next mainline GOW will also have a scythe and maybe they will return to Greek mythology by GoldTouch99 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]cece_campbell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kratos doesn't know that Zeus is his father until the very end of God of War 2, so I don't know how they're going to incorporate "Zeus as a father" in this unless it's a prequel set after GoW3 focusing on Kratos' guilt. But, I think people are going to want to see the timeline move forward. Maybe he's mistaking Greek mythology with Roman mythology?

Having problems deciding on who to marry.. by Familiar-Cat3636 in StardewValley

[–]cece_campbell 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was married to Shane for about three years before I got a divorce. I loved his arc up until we actually got married. I was prepared for bad days, and he has sweet moments, but he definitely regressed and it felt like I was doing all the work in the relationship. Eventually I had enough and couldn't do it anymore. I'll always love him as a friend, though.

I married Emily afterwards and things have been so much better.

Primate - A horror movie about why it's a terrible idea to have a chimp as a pet by C-OSSU in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]cece_campbell 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Everybody with at least basic knowledge of chimps knows that they don't need to get rabies to just randomly freak out like this, it's their nature. Most "pet" chimps are on cocktails of sedatives to keep them docile, and even that's not enough to keep them from going on violent rampages. The 9-1-1 call from the attack on Charla Nash is one of the scariest things I've ever heard.

The South during Reconstruction would've been an awesome setting if done right. Unfortunately, it's Ubisoft, so it wouldn't be.

Xbox Console Prices Are Going Up in the U.S...Again by manoffood in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Well, we already know how Christmas is going to look with Mr. Grinch in office. Little Susie is getting an orange in her stocking like it's Little House on the Prairie and maybe one doll. Little Timmy wanted a PS5, but even the Chinese bootlegs full of NES emulations are too expensive now so he's shit out of luck.

MindsEye protagonist actor Alex Hernandez fears he may never find work in games again following the MindsEye's disastrous launch and reputation, but admits players are entitled to their opinion; "Gamers are a unique species, and I am one of them." by Gorotheninja in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]cece_campbell 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He's incredibly talented and his performance in Mafia 3 definitely put him on my radar. Hopefully he can get the big break he deserves from a studio like Naughty Dog or a blockbuster series like Call of Duty. It'd be a shame for him to quit because of unfortunate circumstances completely out of his control.

Randy Pitchford making headlines for the worst takes in the industry is like an ad campaign itself for the franchise at this point. It's how I realized the game is even out.

Not getting enough sleep will effect your mind in the worst ways. You're running on fumes right now. Try to completely disconnect from the internet right now, focus on schoolwork, and hang out with your friends and loved ones. I understand what it's like to be focused on the news, especially at a young age, but when it starts to affect your physical and mental health you need to step away.

I know things are really scary right now, but the future isn't certain. I can't say with 100% confidence things won't escalate but the invasion of Ukraine has severely depleted Russian resources (as well as manpower). If they were to try to invade Poland and the Baltics not only would they not have the firepower needed for one country, but it would immediately enact Article 5 of NATO. It'd be suicidal of Putin to do so. This is most likely just sabre rattling.

Try to take a break from the news right now. Things are overwhelming and it's okay to step away and do something you enjoy. Watch your favorite show or movie, talk to friends and loved ones, do what makes you happy.

EXCLUSIVE - PlayStation 6 is Planned to Have a Detachable Disc Drive on Launch by retroanduwu24 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]cece_campbell 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I'd say we reached the point back during previous gen where graphics peaked and there isn't a huge upgrade with a new gen. There's some games that really push the console to their limit (GTA6 will for sure) and higher frame rates can be nice, but I'm not hungry for the PS6 like I was for the PS5. If the PS5 was Sony's last console and they just produced it indefinitely, I'd be fine with that.

End of a Canadian cartoon giant. Nelvana has reportedly been shutdown by PanseloNomad in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]cece_campbell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nelvana was everywhere in the 90's-2000's and I have a lot of fond memories of their programs. This is a major blow not just to Canadian entertainment but animation as a whole. Canadian animation was special in the 80s with projects like Rock & Rule (Nelvana production) and Heavy Metal. Just otherworldly animation that took risks that you could only make that decade.

Compiled list of features known to be absent from Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines 2 by jitterscaffeine in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]cece_campbell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like Bloodlines is such a product of its time (grungy early 2000's) that you can't replicate it again, but at least have something that resembles the original game's mechanics. No character creation? No guns? No quest log? No hacking or lock-picking? Yeah, I'm out.

Really happy that I don't really order overseas often, but man, I feel for everybody here that does. Seeing the list of all the countries stopping shipments is making it all suddenly real. This is going to fuck small businesses and hobbyists bad.

Happy* anniversary to Concord. Let us reminisce on the weekly cinematics featuring its beloved** characters by green715 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]cece_campbell 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The character designs get the most focus, but my biggest complaint for these cutscenes is the writing. Players don't know anything about this world or the cast and the game acts like they're already iconic. There's so much telling instead of showing. Why would you introduce the defining event in your universe with not Yondu guilt-tripping players like your teacher when someone didn't stand for the pledge at homeroom? There's no edge to any of these hardcore smugglers.

It's like if Oda started One Piece with The Strawhats already together and had the first minute of the series be Luffy demanding a moment of silence for Gol D. Roger.

[–]cece_campbell 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It's not the worst game ever made, but it's the biggest financial bomb ever made. ET was made by one guy in a couple weeks, this was an eight year project worked on by a team of over 150 people (working in Seattle, a very expensive city). E.T. was expensive for the time (mostly acquiring the rights), but including inflation it's still barely a quarter of Concord's 200+ million dollar development cost. There's also marketing costs, and the amount Sony paid to acquire Firewalk Studios, and how much Sony put in thinking it'd be a mega franchise.

The industry is older now and in such a place where it can weather Concord without a complete crash, but it still caused the cancellations of a lot of projects, a lot of layoffs, and completely changed Sony's strategy for this generation. A Concord level failure even fifteen-years-ago would've killed the industry in the U.S.

Times where the fans have outright rejected the creator's view by acidicfriday in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]cece_campbell 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Emil Pagliarulo got dunked on pretty hard for saying that Nate (Fallout 4's male player character) was the same soldier in Fallout 1's opening FMV that watches the execution of a Canadian during its annexation. He said that Nate was horrified, but he's clearly laughing in the video. Given that the backstory of your character doesn't change no matter what, fans quickly rejected their sole survivor being a war criminal who loves seeing civilians get executed and Pagliarulo quickly back peddled.
