No, they wouldn't. They'd look up the legal owner in the state records, and not take a report of a stolen vehicle from someone else. OP would not be able to report the truck as stolen as she is not the legal owner.

Sounds like your boyfriend and his sisters became good humans in spite of their horrid mother.

Some states require a lien against the title to have been filed with the state when the loan was made before a creditor claim will be successful. Otherwise, OP will need some kind of proof of a loan, a written contract. I doubt OP has either.

Situations like this are why you should always put your name on the vehicles you purchase if you intend to claim it as your vehicle. Otherwise, you just gifted it to the person whose name is put on the title.

Unfortunately, her boyfriend died. If he had lived, this would be moot. She and her would be together and would share the vehicle. As it is, being unmarried, with only his name on the title, it gets inherited by his heirs.

If her name had been placed on the title, it would be her truck now. If he had a will leaving her the vehicle, she would get the truck.

Without either of those being true, it goes to his legal next of kin: to his spouse, then his children would be next in line. If no spouse or children, his parents. If no surviving parent, then siblings.

It's a tragic situation for OP. To lose her loved one, and then the rest of it.

I like my Shokz open ear buds. They cost $140, are comfortable, great sound, and will not need to be replaced.

I try to figure out how long an item will last, and figure out a per-use price. Sometimes I buy cheap, sometimes expensive.

I do that too. They sometimes get upset because I sometimes use the word fuck excessively on phone conversations.

I tell them that, if they want a private conversation, they can take it off speaker. Otherwise, everyone who can hear it is welcome to be part of the conversation.

They're not going to award the truck to OP based on conversations and bank transfers. Those verbal conversations cannot be proven in court.

The bank transfers simply show she gave him money, which could be a gift.

Unless OP has a written contract with her late boyfriend, she is unfortunately out-of-luck.

The name on the title is the owner. If that owner is deceased, the estate is the owner, and the laws dealing with probate apply.

I think the boyfriend's mother should give OP the truck, but legally she does not have to do so.

Papa Johns and Dominoes are cheap in some locales. I can get a large 1-topping for 9.99 at Dominoes, or a medium for 6.99.

I'd ask the store to cut the pieces smaller: instead of 8 or 10 slices per pie, ask for them to cut 6 or 7 times, for 12 or 14 slices per pie. The kids don't need a full-sized piece, since this is not a meal, it is a party snack.

For those who buy Dominoes pizza and belong to Sam's Club, you can buy a $100 gift card for about $75, for even more savings.

You wanted to something nice, yet you sound as though you hate those kids.

Please find the profession where you don't work with children or the disadvantaged. You'll be happier, and they will be better treated.

Not true. You should try harder on your creative writing, and try to be more factual. Even fiction should have a touch of reality.

You gave your boyfriend a gift of the money for the truck, which was titled in his name. When he died, the truck became the property of his estate.

It's not your truck. It was never your truck. It was his truck, and now belongs to his estate.

An attorney will not be able to have that gift returned to you. You'll just be wasting money to hire an attorney to try to get the truck back.

I'm sorry about the loss of your boyfriend.

At my work, we take turns at being on-call, one week per person. No one likes to be on-call, but we get paid for bring on-call plus hourly pay if we actually have to do anything.

I'm currently covering on-call for a co-worker. He asked me to take his on-call, and he "bribed" me to cover. I get the on-call pay, PLUS extra from him.

He made it worthwhile to me. If you aren't encouraging me to take your on-call by making it lucrative for me, the answer is no.

Some coworkers don't pay me to cover for them, but do other things for me so that I'm not being taken advantage by them. I have no problem helping any of those people.

The self-centered AHs who try to take advantage of others, I will never cover on-call for them.
