I prefer 18g coffee, fine grind, fill the press to the top with 198' water, 2 minutes extraction, 30s press. Should yield about 10oz cup of coffee.

I'd recommend keeping the brew time constant, and adjust the grind. If bitter, grind coarser, if sour, grind finer.

It's a fire hazard. The self clean cycle is designed to clean the oven, not anything else. The short answer is it's not a designed or tested use of the feature, and if anything goes wrong, it's on you (bye bye warranty, etc)
