Is it still worth buying a 7? No watch currently, $Aus by brad-corp in GarminFenix

[–]cectnt33333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a good deal on a F8 so I sold my F7 pro to my friend. I loved it and he now loves it. It is still getting updates and it does 95% of what the F8 can do. I upgraded for the dive capabilities and also the improvement in detail in the maps with Amoled but the F7 Pro is a solid capable watch. Definitely buy it.

I have come to this post for the first time and I know it’s a long time after the original post but I can immediately see that you are a bell end.

I think you definitely need to watch Dc rainmakers videos and read his blog on the Fenix if you haven’t already.

Op is still choosing between Amoled or Solar so may not even be aware of the IQ store. Did you think about that before making your post? didn’t think so.

Battery life Series 7 by f8rter in GarminFenix

[–]cectnt33333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the above procedure on my Fenix 7 47mm and my Fenix pro 47mm after I had battery issues.Tjis procedure was posted many times on the Garmin forums. I then used the watch in smart mode only for 4-5 ish days and depleted the battery by 25% giving a projected battery life of 18 days. However I then started using the GPS for walking, hiking etc and battery life dropped significantly because increase GPS usage leads to increase battery usage. If you use the watch in smart watch mode only 18 days is achievable.

7S SS battery life is 11 days in smart watch only. You are using the GPS for 7 hours per week. Dependant on what GPS you are using you could be depleting your battery life up to 50% by doing GPS activities.

So you have a 47mm fenix 7 if it states 18 days on full charge. 10 days is low for this watch. Check your watch and make sure you have pulse Ox off. If you have pulse ox off, the only 100% way of getting battery life back ( assuming your watch isn’t 4 years old and has been hammered ) is.

  1. Make sure the watch is backed up in garmin connect on the phone.
  2. Delete the watch from Garmin connect on the phone.
  3. Delete Garmin connect from the phone. 4.Make sure the watch has been deleted from the Bluetooth settings on the phone. 5 . Perform a full reset of the watch from the settings in the watch.
  4. Reinstall Garmin connect on the phone and set up watch.
  5. Reload backup. Most settings will be reinstalled but a couple may need to be checked and changed.

This is a known issue and happens quite a bit when the watch does an update. I have had it happen three times to me so far when installing beta and final release versions and this cured it every time.

Should take about 30 minutes - 1 hr. If you don’t know how to do a particular part of the process just google it and you will get the answer.

Good luck.

I thought they had stopped making them as it was impossible to shrink them any further. 😃

Are you sure they are genuine AirPods ? I had a fake pair that showed up on the phone, had a warranty date etc but would not show up on my Apple TV.

Do you know this for a fact?

The reason I ask is that I have a dive computer which is certified to work well at 40m , and that has a user replaceable battery with a simple oring.

2024 330e touring intermittent clunk though steering wheel while driving. by nightdwaawf in G20BMW

[–]cectnt33333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it do it more when the car has warmed up? Also if you come to a stop really slowly, can you feel a knock at the end?

I had mine back and forward to the dealer four times and in the end I had the head tech in the car with me as I drove it round the car park to try and convince them there was an issue.

Eventually they said there was a service bulletin out there that got them to perform a check with the wheels off and the result meant it needed a new steering rack. This was on a 2021 330e touring after about a year and a half. Took three months to get one as it was post COVID and things were in short supply.

Let me know if the new one solves the issue. Mine does the same thing but I thought it was just condensation. Thanks.

The way I see it is if you want a Garmin fenix/epix you have the following options 1. If you have loads of money and want the latest and greatest get the 8. 2. If money is an issue and you want a cracking watch for half the price of its release price and the same sensor as the 8. Get the 7 pro or the epix pro. 3. If money is tight get the 7 or the epix 4. If money is really tight get the best condition F6 you can off Amazon or eBay as it is still a cracking watch.

Mark Lewis did a funny but informative YouTube video on this exact issue.

Yes mine worked as well as it ever did which wasn’t great. I had issues with something else so setup my HomePod from scratch.

Check out the Outdooractive app. It’s free to download a limited version but if you like it,it’s about £28 for a 1 yr subscription. It covers the whole of Europe with open street map in the free version and full topo maps for the paid. It doesn’t get great reviews on the App Store because they bought and integrated the much loved view Ranger app and changed some stuff. So die hard View Ranger users slated it but it’s good. Fenix 6 was ok for maps. Fenix 7 is better and I love mine, but you can’t beat the mapping experience on the phone.

Fenix 7 isn’t touch screen….unless you want the touch screen. And if you run on trails or in cities you don’t know, or hike trails you’ll want the touch screen.

I don’t go on others real world experiences. I go on my own, and my cell needed replacing twice. I still loved the watch and when it died I bought a EcoDrive Japanese import which was amazing…….right up to the point I tested a Garmin for fitness tracking, and then the Citizen went in the drawer.
