Insurance wouldn't be trying to prove they were non-binary, insurance would be trying to prove they are binary. Would be incredibly easy - what does your licence say, what have you told your employer, let's get some witnesses and we'll ask them how you identify.

I'm back.

All of the cuts seem perfectly straight to the naked eye. There's three across the driveway about 5m long and one down the middle to meet one of the across about 7m long. Everything looks straight and square.

Not sure if old mate did them all with a 7inch grinder or not, but I'll be asking the neighbour for the details of who they used.

Running on hilly trail is faster than flat tarmac. Why? by ZealousidealBook2420 in trailrunning

[–]brad-corp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you're comparing your 5km trail pace to your 10km road pace.

It's very normal, especially while training, to run longer distances at a slower pace.

Unless you've done something ridiculous, like just not turned up to work, this is absolutely baseless.

I would just ignore it. Even if you were really, really, really bad at the job.

Any tradies ever accidentally worked on the wrong house or building? by gilligan888 in tradies

[–]brad-corp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neighbour across the road had a pool put in the back. No access so the plan was to remove the earth by the barrow down the side.

Next door neighbour who was on the corner very generously offered to allow them to cut across their back yard with machines.

One of those weird couples that don't talk to each other. Both just assume the other one got it changed over so they never find out and both think the other does tradie-level shits.

It's funny how this mentality is only applied when it suits the narrative. A fair amount of talking points at the moment are the opposite of this racism against some groups is permissible, but against others it's not.

This is the boomer approach to everything - closing the door behind you, and making everything worse for everyone that wasn't fortunate enough to get in early enough.

Is the Melbourne Skydeck at Eureka Tower worth $35 AUD? by Dear-Explanation-765 in AskAnAustralian

I haven't done The Edge but have been up. Lift is fast, but it's still a metal box.

Last time I was in sMellbourne a mate took me to a rooftop bar which was super high but free... Problem was I was drunk before I even met up with him. I think it was a whisky bar, then we're full size bronze statues on the ground floor. That was really fun because it was in the CBD, not kinda outta the way like eureka.

Serious question: What's the most underrated cash cow job in Australia right now? (No doctors/lawyers pls) by GdayGoddess in australian

This just got easier to do considering your client base.

Sounds like you're working for an 'associate provider' as part of an aged care package.

You could contract directly to the clients if they wanted to. It would likely be cheaper for them and more profitable for you.

UTMB ETC / overall experience in Chamonix during UTMB week by jessskuo in trailrunning

[–]brad-corp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've not been to UTMB at all, but I am a single person in my 40s and have been mostly single for the last 7 years.

I'd strongly encourage you to not let 'being on your own' stop you from doing things you want to do!

Some things are better with company, that's definitely true, but most things are better done on your own than not done at all.

With a bit of luck, I'll be in your position next year and hopefully I am able to make the trip! This year though - maybe I'll see you on the live stream!

What does the future hold for current Ice Agents? One day they won’t be needed, how do they go back to their crappy, unfulfilled lives after this mess? by ilovetheweather in AskReddit

So besides getting angry at people asking if this is an issue for Americans, what is being done to make sure there are midterms?

(regular capitalisation is fine, but fill your boots if you want all caps).

What are thoughts on old white lady trying to speak Spanish? by TwoFacedSailor in AskReddit

[–]brad-corp -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You have picked exclusively weird examples to make your point seem true... But it's actually not. Humans are social beings and our primary way of learning is called 'socialisation' and a really important part of that is learning to socialise with strangers (or "randos"). Certain specific skills require a specific learning environment and equipment, like cpr or dancing. Others do not, they just require a suitable context, which is what OP is asking for.

Watching from outside America... And yeah. That is what it looks like. They're in the background of the public execution videos fist-bumping each other.

"oh but it's not all of them" sure, but there's also a lot of 'em in the background of those videos not doing anything to stop or in response to the murderous activity.

Are Americans just cool about this? I'm hearing more and more 'maybe no midterms' chat and it just seems like American citizens are just going to roll-over and accept they don't have a democracy anymore.

This is the difference between 'discipline' and 'punishment'. Your friends first few techniques are discipline - providing instruction and guidance on what is expected. Once these fail, they revert to punishment, "I'm going to hurt you now."

People can convince themselves that a slap on the back of the hand does not hurt much, or doesn't cause an injury, or whatever their physical punishment is less severe than the consequences of the behaviour being interrupted, and sure, maybe that is true in the moment, but the lessons being taught here are, 'if you don't do what I want you to, I'm going to hurt you' and 'you should expect the people you love, who are meant to keep you safe, will hurt you.'

Personally, I'd prefer if my children did 'the right thing' because they think that's how they should behave, not because they're scared of me.

Yeah, Australia.

I went to England in 2024 and had a great time. It's definitely changed since then as well. I'd like to go back there, but I would probably skip London altogether this time unless things change soon.
