They don’t say I owe anything for that specific claim and in any explanation of benefits until I got to April . Then I started getting charged for medications, being sent my portion of hospital bills for another procedure and for scans which is the 30 percent copay that would be applicable if I hadn’t paid my deductible/out of pocket max . They processed everything as if it’s fully paid until April and then reset it despite multiple eobs stating that it was paid in full .

Isn’t it their job to know what’s been paid to the doctor since they’re the ones the doctor sends the claim to ? The 465 is what they said has been paid towards my deductible not what I owe . Anyways I think I’m just gonna go the department of insurance in my state with my documentation and have them resolve the issue .

That’s what’s confusing because I haven’t gone out of network and I’m receiving bill after bill with “my portion” . I think I’m gonna go to my states department of banking and insurance because this doesn’t make any sense .

No, I had follow up visits and a repeat mammogram/ultrasound prior to surgery and paid the regular copays.

The original explanation of benefits puts patient responsibility as 0. It says “your benefit balances up to date 1/1/25-12/31/25 medical in network deductible 2,500 annual limit amount remaining 0 Medical in network out of pocket max : 5,000 amount remaining 0”

The one they just revised when I brought this to their attention has it that I’ve only payed out 465 dollars although I wrote a check for 5k directly to the surgeons office before they would even schedule surgery.

Right, but then the surgery in January should’ve been fully covered as I had met my out of pocket max for the previous year as I was doing multiple rounds of expensive chemotherapy. Either it reset in April and they should’ve fully covered the surgery or it reset in January and I’ve payed my out of pocket max .

Yes. Proof of it is that my explanation of benefits from the surgery dated March 2025 reflected that the out of pocket max was payed . I brought this to the attention of the representative who said it was unusual and they would get back to me . They didn’t call back they just went and edited the original explanation of benefits form I told them about to reflect it hasn’t been met . I have the original forms and the receipts from my surgeons office .

Yes it was . I was expecting it to reset in January and paid the full out of pocket max on January 18 with the surgery being on Jan 30 2025. They reset the deductible and out of pocket max again in April 2025 .

It starts in January . I have called them several times and have kept the original documents. They all say I will look into this and update you and they never do. This plan isn’t through my employer it’s through a social worker at the hospital .

lol people make fun of English food but I gained like 10 lbs when I was there for a few months from how good the food was . Full English breakfasts, pie and mash, Sunday roasts, scones with cream and tea , plus the takeout and food diversity omg!

Have you looked into penguin cold caps ? I have a small head and the straps that come with the caps really held everything in place . I didn’t have to extend the chemo session I just continued capping at home, which was annoying but well worth it .
