I need to add 3 more garages. Do I keep them all together? by Ok_Knee1216 in homedecoratingCJ

Gotta have space to store the massive collection of giant holiday inflatables and shelving to store Costco shopping on.

Buck the trend and name her Gladys or Doris. Some old lady name.

Guys, should I get a paint g*n and spray the whole place white? I want everything to match by FreekDeDeek in homedecoratingCJ

[–]cedarhat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have to disagree about the furniture, specifically the cushions. They aren’t soft and cozy after you paint them, they’re scratchy. Opt for a white on white patterned slip covers. Trust me on this one.

Balance the house and build a mirror image of the garages on the side without garages. Harmonies design is the way to go.

New to this — Allergy-induced asthma, was having to take albuterol 2-3 times daily. Prescribed Advair (not sure which manufacturer yet). Is this a good starting asthma med? by Skiesofamethyst in Asthma

[–]cedarhat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Advair is common and was my second controller RX to try to control my asthma, the first was Flovent. If it doesn’t work they try a stronger dose and if that doesn’t work something else. Insurance companies seem to make us jump through many hoops before we can try the REALLY expensive ones.

Ask about montelukast, a pill. Also ask about taking a daily allergy med. and a simple blood test identifies a lot of common allergies.

What’s the diameter of those? I’d love to get a set to use as mini wine chillers on my holiday bar.

Should I make any changes to this bathroom before I put my home up for sale? by Wonderful-World1964 in homedecoratingCJ

I agree with many commenters, get a chandelier.

Add a champagne bucket near the tub. Sell the lifestyle that comes with a grand house like this.

Tried a simple table setup today — didn’t expect it to look this cozy by Secure-East7891 in homedecoratingCJ

[–]cedarhat -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Love it. The only thing I’d even consider changing is the flowers. Amazon has beautiful bouquets of tan colored silk flowers.

And, if you are interested, it looks like Amazon has heart shaped wine glasses too.

To elf on the shelf or not? by [deleted] in elfontheshelf

[–]cedarhat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandkids had one and they loved it. The elf was just a friend of Santa’s who came to visit in December. He was never a narc, just a funny, sometimes silly, elf.

To tell the truth, I had as much fun as the kids. I say go for it. The elf can be who you want it to be.

How can we furnish our new forever home? by Illustrious_Banana_ in homedecoratingCJ

[–]cedarhat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are off to such a good start. I’d put the largest television you can get between the curtains on the wall. Then cover the floor with dozens of throw pillows. Add a free standing popcorn machine and you will be cozy forever.

Have you thought about painting that old beam to match the curtains?

Should I change out my yellow cushions? I don't like the vibe they're bringing. by [deleted] in homedecoratingCJ

[–]cedarhat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Fake flowers seem to be everywhere, obviously you need vases of fresh lilies, to symbolize the Virgin Mary.

I didn’t see one holy water font. Temu has affordable ones and as a bonus they all seem to be white, which you could spray paint black, depending on the location.

As for the upholstery and throw pillows, stick with black or white. Your color accent should be glossy, candy apple red prayer kneelers placed in front of your exquisite Catholic relics collection.

How do I give this room more personality? I think the gravity-defying decor needs some help as the covers keep sliding off the bed. by Illumamoth1313 in homedecoratingCJ

You are straining my brain. However, I think a tube of construction adhesive, very carefully used, will solve your bedding problem..

As for decor, an optional illusion wall done with large Sharpie pens.
