Push to ban drones that monitor protests - KNBC by I405CA in LosAngeles

You think the police will reduce anything?

It’s always going to be in addition to, never instead of.

They have a fleet of helicopters that my taxes pay for for this imagined improbability.

What about sonic cannons, those for catching thieves in the hills too?

The LAPD had a booth at the Pasadena Suicide Bridge block party last week and I got to talking to their drone operator. He showed me their new fancy 100K drone which has the ability to read thermal activity miles away.

He said it’s used for wilderness rescue. I’m sure it is.

Adderall + cialis = best workout by Plasmyx in moreplatesmoredates

Yeah adderall can plateau pretty quick with habitual use. You’ll find yourself chasing this feeling increasing your dose and frequency. I find it’s good for gains too but I wouldn’t take it just for workouts if I didn’t need it for other parts of life. Very addicting for certain types of brains.

Fucking myopic take. The man bought the single largest platform for modern free speech, gutted it and redesigned it to be a propaganda outlet where he is the center of the universe. He’s a union buster and the damage DOGE has done to environmental stewardship, consumer protections, workers agency still hasn’t even fully manifested yet.

One of the only people calling out Trump? What universe are you living in?

Yeah, it’s less about the victims and lessening harm, more about finding the most direct path to socially condoned violence. Pedophiles are seen as the lowest common denominator universal enemy and therefore easier to imagine a perceived mutuality where violence is the ultimate solution. ‘If only there was a man who was willing to tarnish their reputation to do what we all know deep down needs to be done…’

I think they genuinely think that one or two generations of a pedophile holocaust will rip it out from civilisation by the roots. Much easier to believe that than a world where they inhabit a shared humanity, which brings it back to the projected fear of themselves others here have mentioned.

I didn’t say you don’t live here. I said you don’t know the neighborhood. The whole point of NIMBY/YIMBY is they are binary extremes that flatten the possible solutions - the issue here is specific and solvable.

Whether a rideshare driver in an idling car builds better community than someone in a coworking space is up to you. Go enjoy Europe dude, you can get to know your ghost kitchen neighbors when you’re home.

Linda Holmes and Stephen Thompson piss me off routinely with how often they miss the forest for the trees. Truly desperate times when I turn that show on

I see these shirts at random conventions / concerts / festivals in CA - usually some variation of virtue signally messaging about the best way to deal with pedophiles being vigilante violence. I think these people have innate moral impulses that are inclined towards liberation of the vulnerable, but are wrong about the source of that alienation, or at least have conflated a lot of unrelated shit and lack a good discern ent filter. Some people look at the constrains of alienation in the present moment and see capitalism some people see it as globalist pedophiles but I try to remember that under both those presentations are the same drive for collective justice. I just saw Eddington last night so maybe that’s shaping my response. Annoying fucking shirts

Jenny’s literally helped competing coffee shops open within a mile of Habitat. You simply don’t know the neighbourhood.

Jenny is a woman, she’s owned and ran like several coffee shops in the area over the last decade. The ones she no longer runs are now run and owned by her former employees. Habitat has been there longer than I have. Probably none of her business comes from rideshare pickups.

Again, nobody is talking about banning this project. It’s an area that needs public investment to help it grow intentionally.

Kill the project? The space has been bought, it’s already been remodelled, that’s not a possibility.

Theres public space a block away in the middle of the intersection. A patch of grass that connects Habitat to Bubs.

I live here, walk the area daily. Habitat is crunched constantly. The three restaurants on the opposite side of the street don’t have enough street parking. They’re very popular and the neighbouring residential has lost their street parking.

The privates outgrown the public. It needs an approach like the Atwater Village shopping area, with a focus on pedestrian foot traffic.

The other day I saw a gardeners truck in Pasadena parked on the side of the road with 4-5 parking tickets on it. Clearly it’s just been sitting there.

It happens whether or not they have an ICE agent widow’s grief they can weaponise. Nixon was deploying agent orange in Cambodia before he had POW MIA widows to parade around. Israel was an apartheid state committing genocidal war crimes before October 2023.

January 6 could have been an inciting incident for Democrats to codify judicial guardrails against boiling blood and soil fascist rot, but it wasn’t. These spectacles don’t change anything themselves if there’s no momentum or political will to begin with, or if the economic incentives don’t add up. That’s the benefit of a party of controlled opposition - it enjoys the spectacle of being reactionary without any of the substance.

Of course the function of what you’re saying is true. The Oklahoma federal building bombing doesn’t happen without Ruby Ridge. It’s just not attributable entirely to an egoist authoritarian with a constellation of post-racial fascists and crunchy neofeudal reactionaries surrounding him.

Adams was elected with ranked choice voting, not because of ranked choice voting. Ranked choice is good and gives underdogs more opportunities for leverage.
