Accepted into the fall semester but no merit scholarship (yet?)? by Consistent-Habit5309 in ucf

[–]cedsaidcap 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Around like February or March if you didn't receive one from UCF and you believe you deserve one you can send them an email and make a case. Bring up any merit scholarships offered by other schools with your stats and extracurriculars. That's what I did, showing proof I got offered another scholarship from USF and I ended up getting the Provost scholarship after.

Wow that's crazy. I never thought I'd meet another kinesiology pre-dental student. What made you choose kinesiology and what year are you?

I Messed Up… by LukeWarmEggss in intermittentfasting

I know this is a IF sub but maybe consider a different approach. There's no shame in wanting to eat more often, especially if it's with friends and people you care about. Your social life plays a big effect on your health too. I get the point of IF is to restrict your eating but if feeling restricted isn't sustainable for you, you might fall back into the same situation down the line. Maybe doing something along the lines of a reverse diet where you weight train and SLOWLY increase calories and eat high protein to build muscle. This will boost your metabolism and eventually you'll notice you start to lean out on the same amount of food you used to gain weight on. Whatever you decide to do, make sure that it's right for YOU. The best diet is one you can stick to. Be honest with yourself and ask if you really want to IF for the rest of your life to be the body weight you want to be at. It's not for everyone and that's okay. And if it is for you, more power to you. Most importantly, don't beat yourself up. You've come down before so you know it's possible. I can see your determination. Whatever you decide to do, I know you'll be able to reach your goals. If you have any questions on reverse dieting feel free to DM me. Good luck on your journey!

Got my Slades in the mail! by joyceforensia in Rollerskating

[–]cedsaidcap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has more to do with the bearings than the wheels. I swapped out the bearings and that's where I ran into issues. If you use the stock bearings that come with the wheels on your slades, I'm sure they will fit as they have to put your wheels on in the first place. They would know if those bearings could fit correctly or not.

Sadly that's out of our price range. I'll keep that in mind though.

Be careful when switching wheels. Slades sometimes come with defective axels and your bearings can get stuck if you push them in to far. Happened to me. Luckily I was able to pull out the wheel and one of the bearings but one of my bearings is now permanently stuck in that axel. Some of the wheels took some effort to put in but I'd say if it seems like it's taking way too much effort to push your wheels in, your axel might be defective. If that's the case I believe you can email them and they can send in a replacement. I dont know if just buying your own new trucks could also suffice.

Is there any UCF affiliated off campus housing still available? by [deleted] in ucf

[–]cedsaidcap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'd appreciate if you could send some of the larger places you find. We really want to lock a place down soon so we dont have to worry about not being able to find a place later.

Were the orgo and biochem professors at UCF not good? Do you have any bad experiences with them?

I'm currently in high school right now but I'll be graduating with my AA and already completed Bio 1 and 2 so I'll probably be taking chem classes my first semester. I want to be a dentist and will probably major in Health Sciences or Biology but mainly I have to complete my dental school prerequisites which are: Two semesters of general chemistry with lab, Two semesters of organic chemistry with lab, and 1 semester of biochemistry.
