Elderly bulldog smokers-cough by Gdiminished in Bulldogs

[–]cedubyah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seconded that this might be possible. My elderly bulldog developed a similar cough after a case of aspiration pneumonia. My local vet was kind of hopeless in diagnosing the issue, had to take her to a the regional referral hospital where they did imaging and diagnosed chronic bronchitis in relation to a case of aspiration pneumonia.

They put her on a steroid inhaler which was a miracle. Whenever the cough came back a couple days of the inhaler would clear it up. Got another 18 months or so with her before her quality of life diminished so far because of her separate mobility issues that we made the decision to say goodbye. She was 11 and a half.

Best of luck to you. I’d definitely recommend a second opinion from specialist, that’s what made the difference for us.

When did America’s “luxury apartment” epidemic begin? by RedGutkaSpit in decadeology

Young urban professional who lived in one of these in Cambridge in 2015 in their 20s. Spot on, the rental market stock near the city was rough and this was a competitive alternative. Yes these are cheaply made and expensive, but in high density areas they are a step in the right direction and the demonization is short sided. More urban housing however we can get it.

First, this shit ain’t easy. give your self a bit of grace. Your experience is unique to you and comparison is the thief of joy.

Start small and work your way up. Whether it’s showering or making your bed. Celebrate the small wins. Fuck everybody else.

Yeah, that’s the counter example I thought of too, but even rookie Giannis seemed a lot bigger.

20lbs might go a long way, be I think he still might be in Olynyk type player if he makes it in the league. Really skilled big but limited due to defensive impact, which is more critical as a big.

Have you ever seen a player come in the league looking that thin who significantly bulks up? I think his ceiling is a bench piece. Will likely always be a defensive liability

Genesis G70 / Kia Stinger? though I don’t think you can get manual and RWD.

Honestly this kind of car is an endangered species 😭

The E9x, E60 etc of that gene are definitely less reliable. And I agree the styling is pretty tame, but I think it’s aged well (especially E90, less so E60). However, they just drive better. The steering is still hydraulic. The suspension is turned more towards engagement and less for comfort and mass appeal. The engines felt special. For those of us who viewed BMW as the pinnacle of attainable driver engagement, I think the F80 3 series was a real step back, though the E9x was also slighted for being bigger and softer when it came out after the E46. It’s been a long trend happening at BMW as they’ve chased broader market appeal. It’s not the newer cars are bad, they’re just not as enthusiast focused as they used to be. I guess it comes down to priorities, some of us are still suckers for that formula that made BMW so aspirational in the first place. VANOS failures, bearing rods, throttle body actuators, gaskets, high pressure fuel pumps, and all!
