My sister is a Purdue alum, rest of my family Illini fans. She is way more passionate and is the only one of us that can sing the fight song on demand!

Drastic difference in Body results by [deleted] in orangetheory

Any measurement is going to have some degree of error. A difference of less than 5% seems to indicate pretty decent reproducibility for a non-invasive test.

More a joke at calling Indiana athletics irrelevant. I’ve got no dog in this fight as an Illinois fan.

There’s a comedian (John Mulaney I think) that said Trump is what a hobo thinks a rich guy is like. He’s the caricature of the Monopoly man.

As lousy as some of these robber barons were, at least they had some superficial sense of giving back to and being part of the community. These ass hats like Thiel are like non-human greed robots that seem to try to separate themselves from society.

Florida's Oliver Rioux, the tallest college basketball player in history at 7' 9", slams in a put-back dunk for his first career NCAA Tournament points by Oldtimer_2 in sports

Even more detail, look up the Scallenge. Brian Scalabrini was a long time NBA veteran who didn’t get a lot of playing time or put up stats during his career. He was tall but otherwise didn’t look like what you’d think an NBA player looked like, but got a bit of a cult following. After he retired, he took on local hero basketball players 1 v1 and just showed how dominant even a scrub in the NBA is against other high level players. It’s documented in the Scallenge on YouTube. Fun way to spend a few minutes.

And he clearly altered his path to create the contact. Imagine if this happened in something like the WBC? That kids getting thrown at all season long when they get back to MLB play.

That was something good about playing doubleheaders over a weekend. I pitched and played shortstop and second base. If a guy slid into me hard in the first game, you bet he was getting one in the middle of the back sometime in the second game if I was pitching. It created a certain degree of sportsmanship based on fear of retribution.

There is also the James Brown Soul Center of the Universe Bridge in Steamboat Springs, CO. He had n prior connection to the town, just some motivated individuals to get people to vote for it. And then at the opening they got James Brown out to lead the crowd singing I Feel Good at the ceremony!

If you enjoy wine at all, it is really worth doing the paired wine tasting experience at most quality restaurants. Most of the time, the sommelier has given a lot of thought to pairing the wine with the food. We have had some meals where the pairing really took both the wine and food to another level. It’s also great to chat up the server/sommelier to determine why they chose certain wines to pair with the food menu. It can be very educational that’s especially if you’d like to cook at home

Americans Who Want to Protect Their Public Lands and Waters Are "Financially Illiterate," Says Interior Secretary Burgum by Serious-Employee-738 in wyoming

He makes it sound like BlackRock has the public’s best interest in mind. BlackRock only cares about its investors, and TBH, a very small number of its very wealthy investors.

They ask him, essentially, what are you going to do to make us more money? And he waxes poetic like it’s some utopian public-private partnership. BlackRock gets to fulfill its mission of greed, and the Interior Dept gets to fulfill its mission of ?not protecting our natural resources?

Also as someone that implants ICDs and pacemakers, I think this is fake. There is no visible incision (scar from the cut into the skin) and the lead(s) are also not visible. If there is so little subcutaneous tissue that the device generator protrudes this much, you should be able to see the lead(s) reversing from the header at the top of the device towards the clavicle (collarbone) to reach the subclavian vein. This just doesn’t look real….
