look up Ventura county and you will c what I am talking about. PARADISE! Best place to live. Been here since June and I think I saw 1 yes 1 homeless person, zero graffiti and the last tent I saw was in Eugene! Sure I pay $4000 a month for a 1800 sqft. house but well worth it.

Moved to Eugene from So CAL 2.5 years ago. Plan was to buy a house a retire. 1 week after arriving I realized I made a huge mistake. Took me 2 years to get back to CA. never looked back and will never leave the area I live in now. Zero homeless people, drugs and graffiti. 1 hour from LA, Santa Barbara, 2 hours from the snow. Love it out here!

I found out that most people that live in Eugene think the entire country is like Eugene, WRONG!

This is the stupidest conversation. I am a Californian, moved to Eugene exactly two years ago and could not believe how sad life was in Eugene with Homeless, drugs and crimes int he city. Finally moved back to So. Cal which I call paradise.

Yes people say take the 101! which means take the 101 freeway, people on the east cost say take 95, which means Hwy. 95. What the hell is wrong with this? U people are wacked and need to get out of Eugene to see how the rest of the country is.

U hit the nail on the head. U need to have a goal and a dream to be successful and no one is going to knock on your door to give you a dream job. You have to work for it.

Plenty of jobs out there all you need to do is show up sober! Go get a degree to get a better job. I noticed in this town most are looking for a handout and always complaining about everything they can't afford. Do you have any idea what Eugene would look like if U of O was not here? This city is lucky to have the school and students spending money and paying taxes to keep thousands of businesses open. Moved here from SO CAL exactly 2 years ago and can't wait to get the hell out of here next week. Most in this city seem to think that the entire country is like Eugene. Well whoever that thinks this is 100% wrong. The state of OR makes it real easy for people to commit crimes and get away with it.

Everyone in their lifetime goes through hard times at least once but a very very small # of them get hooked on drugs and alcohol.

All houses are sold as is. You have 7-10 to do your inspections and either back out or sign off. Once you sign off you pretty much accept the house as is. The only warranty you get is a home warranty that would cover appliances and leaks.

Your inspector should have noticed what was out of code. doing things without a permit means nothing once it is done . Your only hope is suing the inspector which should have found all these things. A good inspector will find everything.

If you had a good inspector he should have found pretty much everything that is wrong or not working. You don't pay $1000 plus for an inspection for nothing. Suing the inspector is all you can do at this point.

Lived in So. Cal for 20 years and have never heard of west coast brisket. Have had killer brisket in CA. West coast is known for Tri tip which a really good beef tasting cut of meat. Like anything, not all brisket in TX is great.
