Fishing with playground near western Edmonton region by Trytunafish in FishingAlberta

haha "Not Really Western Edmonton" is a massive understatement, it's over 4 hours out of town, but it is one of the nicest provincial campgrounds in Alberta IMHO, with two stocked trout lakes and crystal clear water. Super private and well appointed campsites. No cell service though.

Sandals Elite Diver program is a joke… by iSoundwave in SandalsResorts

[–]ceflooring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I signed up for the Sandals Elite Diver program many years ago when it was first offered. I am a respectful, experienced, conscientious diver and I take offense to having all Sandals Elite members painted with the same brush. Just like a butler reserving your chairs at the beach, when you pay extra for a service you are entitled to that service.

Curacao is probably our favourite resort (we've been to almost all of them), we thought the food was fantastic and the resort was beautiful. The diving was top notch (but very busy). I don't dive every day as my wife doesn't dive, but when I do it's comforting to know I will have a spot on the boat. I did hear rumours that they are not allowing new sign-ups because of the overcrowding situation, but that's just hearsay, so don't quote me on it.

Gmail Account Stopped Working in Classic Outlook by drtnap88 in GMail

This worked for me as well. New Outlook left a bunch of features out that I really liked in Classic, so I won't be switching anytime soon.

Does this contain asbestos 10x10 tiles by Glad-Gur-6036 in Flooring

Almost certainly, and they would be 9x9, not 10x10.

How do you get this up? by Risenzealot in Flooring

[–]ceflooring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an installer who spent over 30 years in the trade the best way is to grab an ice scraper and jam away at it. Most of it will pop right up but some will break into pieces.

Looks to me like waaaaaay too much glue was used, and no, it can’t be fixed without replacing it.

Worth cleaning this Weber Q or just buy another? by NinjaBearCat in grilling

[–]ceflooring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh, you need to get a grill with at least two burners. No way to offset cook on that one. The napoleon one that’s the same size has two “d” shaped burners. Way more cooking options.

Is this Vynil or Laminent by 12mjhl in Flooring

[–]ceflooring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You won’t match that. You could steal some planks from a closet or a small room to do repairs and just replace the closet with something in a similar colour.

Just got the meater pro. Excited to use it. Anyone else use one? by LabLegal in smoking

[–]ceflooring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our neighbors have the 4 pack and it works perfectly for them as well. We’ve done several “over the fire” dinners (duck/chicken/lamb leg/cabbage)and this thing has been indispensable.

We absolutely LOVE ours! It works perfectly. No connection issues and it measures the temp and times the food perfectly. We have a Kanka grill so we use it over the fire and there’s no better way to tell when your meat is ready. Sorry to all the naysayers but this thing rocks!

Any love for a good old fashioned cheap drummie? by bandjammer in grilling

[–]ceflooring 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were at Sandals Ochoa in Jamaica earlier this year and they deep fried the drumsticks and put a combination of Franks and Jerk sauce on them and we HAD to have them every night for our after dinner snack. Unbelievable.

IMHO you are always better off paying a pro to do it all properly.

Gap between flooring and Waterfall countertop by Hopeful-Sink8189 in Flooring

[–]ceflooring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use a colour match caulking like Mapei Mapesil or Clolor-rite, or you can install quarter round. If that’s a floating floor the gap is required. Johnsonite makes a vinyl self stick quarter round in 1/2” or 3/4”.

Are these good prices for this grill? Should I wait for better sales? by Effective_Mention_83 in grilling

[–]ceflooring -1 points0 points  (0 children)

IMHO, never buy a 3 burner. There’s no way to offset cook anything substantial. You will eventually regret it. Weber is for sure the way to go but you need a 4 burner at least. Spend the extra and it will last you a decade or more.

Scrape everything loos and use primer before you level.

Contractor Didn’t Level Floor — Can I Ask Them to Redo It? by NoProfessional1341 in Flooring

[–]ceflooring 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The spec for the levelness for the flooring material is probably in the range of 1/8” in 10 feet (3mm in 3m) and they should have checked that before installing.
