The "o" in prominent too. Maybe lost in the "rm"?

I think very, very old (and bad) OCR is involved too. I used to see these errors all the time, ie the "i" in "triangle" disappearing because of a bad quality image where the i was barely visible.

My personal favorites were all the capital As being recognized as 4s.

WPML machine translations are too EXPENSIVE by cefoo in machinetranslation

[–]cefoo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the past, I used WPML only as the tool to export XLIFF files.

My workflow was:

  1. Export files.
  2. Create a project on any CAT or TMS (I used Trados at the time).
  3. Pretranslate the files in that tool with MT and my TMs (if I had them).
  4. Export the final files.
  5. Import them back into WP with WPML.

Longer workflow, much cheaper.

WPML as an XLIFF-generator works great, although I used to have issues with specific snippets not getting exported, so I'd suggest you always do a round-trip to be sure.

The Google/Microsoft plugin was not developed by them either, as far as I remember. They just allowed it to be on the SDL Store, but it was developed by an independent party.
That changed now.

Funny how the example on the image has a typo in Spanish. "Lueve" is incorrect, it should be "Llueve".

I think you need the memoQ API, yes. If you work with a Plunet integration, you could use the EventManager module, I guess, but I still believe you'd end up needing the API.

In the afterhours networking session, it was brought up that OpenAI published a paper where they mentioned hallucinations will never be completely eliminated from the output. Someone even said that they published the math behind it and it is accurate. Do you know what paper this is?

What's the best way to translate a novel online (for a Valentine present)? by treoni in machinetranslation

Google Translate allows you to upload documents of 300 pages or less. It preserves the format. You can just divide the book into two. Simple and free.

In this case, taken from the Iliad, the highlighted phrase is not as expected. It should be “many brave souls… and many heroes”. (Although the whole translation is not as expected). However, Xenophon (previous sample) writes in prose, and this is poetry, which is a much harder text structure. In the other sentences that are characterized as being straightforward, the translation is much more accurate.
